I think Medvedev and Medvedeva must have been playing in the same week too once in their carreer

Safin and Safina have done better, but maybe they haven't "qualified" for an event during the same week, no.

Phil King had better enjoy this tournament while it lasts. I just looked at the draw and Washington was like the weakest qualifying ever in the history of the ATP. :tape:

OK I am pretty sure that this is the first time that siblings have come through qualies during the same week

Well, he's definitely enjoying
even more now after his 1st rd

Looks like he has been meandering around the challengers for awhile. (Or perhaps a 4 year hiatus for college? )

He's ranked 387.

Reaching the MD 2nd rd will
take him up to about 362.

Tiny Tim is his next opponent.

i read somewhere that vania isn't going to college -- i mean maybe she will later on, but at the moment she isn't. hopefully, she'll forget this loss against Emma Laine and do well in the upcoming tournaments -- she's in a mini-slump right now after having a really great beginning to this year.
