not sure if we did this before, but i'm just wondering about your opinions. it's great how it went from kim to amelie, yet now kim has won the US Open, and Amelie has 2 slams just this year. i think i would say dementieva would be the best player to have not won a slam yet, what about you guys?:)

If we are talking ever, it has to be MJ Fernandez or Helena Sukova...probably Sukova.

If we are talking active players, Dementieva and Petrova are fairly close. I'd say Dementieva takes the cake, however, based on her two slam finals.

I agree. Did both Sukova nad MJF make 3 Slam finals, or did Helena make 4? Of the current crop, probably Dementieva followed by Nadia.

looks like dementieva and petrova are the main ones...who do you think will win a slam first if they win one?

out of the retired, i'm still surprised that pam shriver and mary joe fernandez never won one, i love them both

well there are many other top 5ers in your siggy who are perfectly capable, i'm sure. :p

anyone saying petrova is a biased skank. 2 slam finals pwn 2 slam semis.

No.Since last year, Nadia is more consistent in GS. Plus, I find she showed a better tennis than Dementieva troughout these 2 years (until her injury).
And Dementieva never wins tourneys so I how can someone except her to win slams. I was about to forget to mention that evrytime Lena reaches a final, she's burnt and exhausted.

I have to say Elena Dementieva. For as long as she's been a top-ten player, she's overdue, if there is such a thing. I'd like to see her do it.

i should have remembered pam
i think she has only one major final though, but with 20+ titles, she makes the shortlist for sure!

i don't care. elena's gunna win a slam and nadia isn't cause elena's the shit when she's on.

and to say elena never wins titles is ridiculous, considering the player you are arguing for has the exact same number of career titles as elena!

err, patty schnyder? death that i'm the only person who's mentioned her. i guess nobody else believes in her. :help:

well, i say patty, because she can pwn nadia or elena when she's on.

I love both players, but once Petrova got over the mental issue she equalled Dementieva's career titles in less than six months.

Of active players it is most certainly Lena D. She has made 2 slam finals and 2 other slam semi-finals. Petrova and Schnyder are the only other top 10 players who haven't won a slam but neither of them have made a slam final or as many semi-finals.

Nicole Vaidisova. shes a future star for sure. she reminds me of capriati. bitchy, full of fight and kinda bratty too. (the face too..its kinda wierd).

so nicole.

honorable mention. Anna Kornikova, so much talent...so little desire.
