I have to say Kim is looking like she did last year during the series,I was very impressed by her forehand today and her serve,if she's in a good mood on the court a repeat of the us open title is very doable for her.

Well done Kim. The first set was sloppy by both (based on this set I could not believe Kim won against Vaidisova with this kind of play). Kim made most of her UE's in that set. Luckily for her Patty played even worse, sometimes displaying very weird tactics (a drobshot from 2m behind the baseline  ). Kim picked up her play in the second, hence the scoreline.

Was it a good match?

Awfully boring if you ask me, but that's only a matter
of personal taste I guess. I turned off my TV at 3/0
in the second set.
Kim was strong from the baseline and Patty Schnyder
didn't seem to find an answer to counter her game.
Lots of UE's as a result. Not really nice to watch.

Anyhow, congrats to both, and to Kim C. on her first
HC title this year. This is definitaly the best surface
for her type of game.

Kim had warned us though, via the media, not to expect
too much from her this tournament, explaining she was
suffering from a backpain -- which as we may know by
now, means as much as that she's in top form. :)

Patty Schnyder is utterly useless. I can't believe no one could prevent her from making the final.

That isn't the case at all. She is actually loaded with talent, and when her head is on straight, she can play brilliantly. Unfortunately, her mental fragility is such that she tends to give up the big fights.

Rainer got it right: Patty played like she couldn't win. I hate it when she does that. You'd think I'd be used to it by now.

That's so weird about Patty. She has the game, she has
the weapons, the touch, the finesse ... but she seems to
completely lack the selfconfidence to do something with it.
She doesn't come across to me as a mentaly strong woman.
More like the type of person who's too depended on- and
too influencable (if that word exists in English) by others.
It's a pitty, really, Patty has so much potential. If only she
would believe in herself just a little bit more.

Every time the camera zoomed in on Rainer, he was shaking
his head in disbelief, as if he was bored with the way she
handled the match or was thinking, ok there we go again.

Thanks for the pics Nouf.

Ah ... and for Kimmie fans. Sporza showed a bit of an "interview"
with (I think) M.J. Fernandez (is that possible? I never saw this
woman before. She had long black hair. It was from ESPN).
Anyway, what I have learned is : Kim will not wear an all white
dress at her wedding and for where the wedding will take place,
she was thinking about some island, but now seems to be very
interested in a safari and is buying and reading lots of books
on this matter of vital interest.

Damn, I'm from Belgium (Flemish like Kim), but to hear the latest
gossip, one really needs to go to the US or hope to see a snippet
of ESPN TV. (If only they were as much interested in tennis as in
gossip, this world would be a better place to live in. ;) )

He may have gotten it right, but have you noticed that when Patty is winning, Rainer Hofmann is always ready to share generously in the credit, but when she loses, his expression is always like, it's not MY fault, there's nothing i can do...

The mentality of Hofmann, who obviously has a powerful influence over Patty's psyche, is a big part of her on-court problems imho...

OK. (And he'll never let PP have a "real coach", who could become someone she trusts like a father figure, perhaps ova time allowing her to realize that Hoffy's just an exploiter). So since she willingly submits to this, pray tell how you or anyone else who realizes it can be a supporter of hers? BTW, she's long past the "innocent victim" stage.
