View Full Version : I'm moving away to Portland today!!

Jul 15th, 2006, 09:01 AM
It is currently 2:54 AM in Duuuuuuuuuuh-Ridder (local dialect for "DeRidder"), Louisiana and I have just finished packing all of my belongings to move away with my close friend, Anthony, in Portland. Today the police came to my house and carried my mom away to the Mental Institution where she will be held and treated for numerous weeks. My Dad will be coming in to take care of things, and although he wanted me to stay to help out, that is beyond possible as I can't take anymore of this. I have not lived a normal life since I was 9 years old when my mom started getting constantly "crazy" and my dad went overseas for months at a time, so to say the least, I am abit anxious to move. I have such an overwhelming desire just to GO.. GO GO GO, and never turning back. I am so full of spunk, happiness, and hopefulness as we speak and for the past 2 days.. I am beyond ecstatic. I feel so alive again!!

It is 2,500 miles away though ( ) so it's going to be a loooooong drive, but I have $6500 plus a car PLUS my mom's debit card (which I have access to $60,000 in our savings) so, I'm not going to make it a habit, but for the first night's rest stop at a hotel, I'm staying in a really, really expensive one with saunas and massage therapists, ala Home Alone 2  But obviously I won't blow it all foolishly ;)

I just wanted to let my friends.. well, nevermind.. I have no friends here  But I thought some people might be interested :wavey:

Wish me luck!!!! I'll try to find internet access soon and say hi to everyone.

Love to you all!

Good luck, be happy! I understand about mental health issue, 2 of my male 1st cousins has it. I know how draining it is because my Mom had custody of them since they where 14 and 11. The younger one showed sign of it at 15 and was institutionalize at 17, the oldest at 22, and doing much better. They are 22 and 25 today. Anyway, hope everything works out!

Well I moved back because the guy was a freak.. like, bad.. he had all his water in empty saurerkraut jars & his house was like the inside of a apple pie, so disgusting and mooshy. So.. I'm gonna stay here for a few weeks and move to Houston with my Aunt who I know very well until I can find my own apt. and job. Portland just wasn't for me
