Does anybody know how to download a version of Windows Media Player which will run on Mac OS X? I downloaded something off the Windows homepage which I thought was it, and in much the same way as an exe file is not recognised on a Mac, it couldn't recognise it!

Please help!

Umm... It came up with the same problem as when I tried a download from the Microsoft website...

It appears to be an unrecognised file and needs an application to open it. It says "there is no default application specified to open the file"

Any ideas

which machine do you have and when EXACTLY did you buy it. (i.e. is it intel or ppc)

if its intel DONT INSTALL filp4mac. instead try vlc player.

i'm pretty sure you don't need stuffit expander when you download media player but that is common problem with downloads for Mac 10.4 Tiger because it doesn't come with.

Thanks Darkling, I'll try that your download now

And it's an iBook, yes, it's funning OS 10.4.7 according to finder.

I'm afraid I'm new to Macs and somewhat ignorant on the subject!
