David Beckham had a shit tournament, the only time England played well was when he was not on the pitch. Frank Lampard was also pretty shit. The rest of the team actually played pretty well - props to Cole, Ferdinand, Terry, Neville, Carragher, Gerrard, Cole, Rooney and Crouch. And especially Owen Hargreaves, he was a leg-end.

Lets face it England were pretty poor all the tournament, they played their best when down to 10 men today, it was a great performance.
Sven totally screwed up our chances of doing well in this World Cup when he chose to take only 4 Strikers, Owen then got injured and we were left with a Giraffe (who was one of our best players), Rooney, less said about him now the better and the Kid Walcott who never even got a second on the pitch.

Sven good riddance, its your fault we are out! :cuckoo:
Now we have the great McClaren, The FA's Yes Man and Sven's running boy in charge  :tape:

On the plus side, Hargreaves and Lennon were fantastic this tournament. I'd say Crouch and Ashley Cole had good tournaments overall.

If only Michael Owen hadn't got injured. We could have done with him today.

Hargreaves was very good the last 3 games, maybe he's better than alot of people gave him credit for, including me!. Lennon is a great talent, he seems to go past 2 or 3 players with ease, pity he didn't start every game this WC.

Only in your heart I'm afraid.....

I think its ironic that they've won 4 matches until now, playing crappy, and then they play much better with only 10 men, and lose. I felt so sorry for them, but unfortunately its the same old story for England.

I know that David didn't do well at this game, maybe he was injured, you know,he sicked up at the last game, and maybe he didn't have enough fire:(

yeah,i think Owen was a legend, but sad news that he got injured.I really hope he can get better soon:bounce:

I think they played better when there were just 10 players, and Aaron Lennon did so well at this game,i think he is a new star for England:cool:

no matter how is England,i will love them forever, though they lost, but i think they were unlucky, and not because they did badly

yeah, they didn't do well before, but this time, they did better, and they had chance to win, just because they were unlucky,i think, and Portugal did well

they can't change the old history, that's a pity:(

The only English player to score a penality was actually a Canadian. :) Hargreave has a great game especially after the sending off.

Please please English fans don't blame Ronaldo for the red card Rooney got. I am not really a fan of Ronaldo but if English fans reacted like Italians did when the Korean player Ahn send them off from the last world cup, it would really be shameful.

England sucked all the way through the tournament. They only really started playing well when down to 10 men today. Makes you wonder why they couldn't play like that before

I think Frank Lampard will never forget this tournament. It has been a nightmare for him!! I think I'm most disappointed with him because he had so many chances throughout the tournament and did nothing!

Beckham sucked too!!!

Even if England had won, I seriously doubt that they will beat France....

... with Rooney out, Becks out, Terry out (Campbell? I rather have Heinz-e soup) :tape:

.... and a giraffe together with Pampers leading the attack. :help:

England could have suffered a more humiliating defeat....

We only have ourselves to blame on that. We palyed poorly overall in this tournment. Sven did a very bad job indeed he should take 5 strikers instead of 4 and also Rooney is not really a striker but an attacking midfielder a bit like Zidare. How dare Sven put him in that on that position and also he should not put Lampard in the game he's played very poorly on the tournment and the only thing I'm please from this is that Sven's gone now.
However, I'm please with other players such as Hargreave, Joe Cole, Carrick who I think he should be our holding midfield player from now on and Aaron Lennon who I think makes England a more posistive side because he is the only person who has pace in the England midfield. Anyway, lets hope the next manager will do a better job than this one.

I honestly don't believe its the managers fault here...he gave players like usually terrific players like Lampard freedoom, and he played ROTTEN, MISERABLY...after Lamaprds AWFUL shooting throughout the world cup, was there anyone in England who thouhg he would score that penalty?

I don't buy the Defoe thing...Crouch played BETTER than Rooney in this World Cup, and did a creditable job after Rooney's stupid exit, when his country needed him Rooney behaved like an idiot...not for the first time in his career...he didn't stomp the player because he was frustrated at playing one up front, but becuase of his own poor form and the fact that he is a thug at heart.

So...HUGE boos to Rooney...HUGE boos to Ronaldo for being the knob we always knew he was...credit to England after they had the man sent of, for an heroic, well organised display...and credit to the fans in the ground for their immense support.

Two England playsers deserve special credit...Lennon, who showed more invention and imagination in his little toe than Rooney did in his enitre neanderthal body...:worship:

Then Hargreaves...shabbily treated by Engalnd fans early in the tournie, but MAGNIFICENT in the quarter final, so much energy and guts...and heck he managed to SCORE a bloody penalty, more than the rest of those better paid stars did. :worship:

i've been saying that since match one
i think england would have done much better if he was on the bench

just play with
robinson

gary-rio-terry-ashley

hargreaves
becks ------------- cole
gerrard

rooney - crouch

or

robinson

gary-rio-terry-ashley

becks - hargreaves
lennon -------------------- cole
gerrard

rooney

and if that wouldn't work, bring on lampard
