Two weeks from Monday, Lindsay and Mary will have not played in three of the WTA Tour's "Mandatory" tournaments: Miami, Roland Garros and Wimbledon. As a result, both will have to take zero points for each of those events.

Now, since a player has to have three tournament results to appear on the rankings, here's my question:

If either Lindsay or Mary don't play again for an extended period, and let all of their other points drop off the computer, are they going to be ranked on the computer with 0 points?

Lindsay would not drop off the rankings til next year...she played Australian Open, Dubai and Indian Wells this year!

Mary played Oz and Paris this year..so she'll drop off after End of Year Championships..

They dont appear at zero..they just dont appear!!

not 100% sure
they will appear as a ZERO, as the mandatory tournaments count, as being played even if they didnt play at all.

on ATP, they count those mandatory events as one of your events even if you missed them all.
Larry Scott is now WTA CE and he was the then ATP CE.

i remember Richard Krajicek hadnt played for 20 months, and he appeared on ranks with about 10 tourns played after his Wimbledon QF.
