View Full Version : Confirmed, big chance Venus won't play Fed Cup against Belgium!

Venus Williams will probably not be a part of the American Fed Cup team when they are going to play against the Belgium Fed Cup team. '' I'm not going to stay healthy if I must play everything'' said Venus. Serena Williams and Davenport both have said that they won't play in Oostende. Belgium will play against USA at 15 and 16 July in the semifinals of Fed Cup.

Hmm... I was hoping though since I saw Venus her schedule that she would play Fed Cup since she decided to skip Stanford. I hope she could still change her mind though, I'd rather see her skipping those WTT matches and play Fed Cup. But whatever decision Venus makes I respect it, and if she sees it as a danger to her health I'm 100% surporting her decision.

 "I won't stay healthy if I play everything?" She plays nothing anymore! Before you all start on me...I'm over both Venus and Serena trying to "preserve" themselves like Disney. Perhaps they both need a bloody workout!!!

Joking...Pissed off coz the game needs them really ;) K not joking hehe:lol:

dont play venus.. fed cup is really boring and i prefer venus to play a wta tournament later instead of fed cup.. for venus to stay healthy is no 1.. and she would probably have to go three hard matches and win them all for US to have a chance

Oh yeah, really
concrete confirmation! :p

Until Venus says, "I won't be playing
Fed Cup" or Zina/US Team officials
involed say so their is no confirmation.

Let's see how many will
run with this.

This should surprise no one.

It's too close after Wimbledon.

It is too close after Wimbledon.

Anyway, I think she is being more sensible with her hardcourt schedule this year. Last year was too demanding. All that work after Wimbledon, plus Stanford and WTT. byt the time Stockhom rolled around she was ill, and even so, she would have to leave America and fly across to Europe, then fly back to Toronto for the next week, then back to the New York. It wasnt the best.

This year I think she will stay in US, play WTT, then events like San Diego and LA. Then US Open. Maybe Even Pilot Pen!! Who knows!!!

the reason fed cup is boring is becaus players like venus too often choose not to play

Yup...she cant play everything and therefore decided to skip Stanford...nice decision...GO VEE!!

For Jamea and Shenay, as well as for Venus and Davey, it is not convenient to have to be in Europe that week. The girls need to think about their ranking first.

I'd rather see the US concede the tie and send some non-Top 100 players over there, maybe Julie Ditty and Lilia Osterloh, something like that. The US has no chance to win no matter who they send.

LOL Hilarious and ridiculous.

The coward abviously wonŽt put herself in the position to lose to the probably two best players in the world at the moment.

Venus played fed cup last year after Wimbledon, even after that Marathon final.. which i doubt could be repeated this year, if she is healthy there are no reasons to withdraw.

Are you a pro player?
Did you only a month ago comeback from an injury?
Is your body as injury proned as Venus williams?

WeŽll have to wait and see if she really has the b...s to play the tie against the Belguim players....
But... her quote made by Santhuru (which i assume was from Venus indeed) is just ridiculous.

Yes, because one can discern all they'd ever
need to know from a small sentence.

As I said, before this is no
confirmation of anything yet the trolls
will especially run with it. Go figure.

Ok lets get facts straight here..
Qoute '' I'm not going to stay healthy if I must play everything''= Ridiculous.

And if healthy does not go to the tie vs Belguim= COWARD.

Yeah, she played last year, then wtt & stanford right after, and she was wiped out by the time it came to play the USO. :(

As much as I'd like to see her play Kim & Justine,I'd rather she skip Fed Cup, AND WTT and stick to the real tournaments.

Yeah, coming from a 5-time Slam winner who
against popular belief actually played last year
and kept a tight schedule that ultimately left
her drained for the finals of Stanford
and injured until the US Open.

Coming from a woman who owns
Belgium's top player 7-1 and their
#2 player 6-4.

Not to mention that you being the genius you
are take one simple sentences (plucked from where exactly?)
and it's somehow "confirmation" that she won't be playing?

Great logic!

BTW, when it's your ass on the pro tour, when it's
your ass that is injury proned, when it's your health
that is of concern to you being a pro player,
let's talk. :wavey:

well. yeah.. but also that ive never had a chance to see a single fed cup match ever. and its a fact that women players get injuried A LOT. its not just that its boring, because venus vs. henin and clijsters is never boring. But i would love more venus to win a wta tour title than fed cup

All the insults in the world won't change the fact that she won Wimbly last year. Still bitter I see. Get over it! Stop wasting so much energy on trying to assassinate her character  ........it's not working.

She won fair and square, and played the best i have seen probably since 2000-2001.. i donŽt have to get over anything. On a personal note still i doubt she can repeat last yearŽs performance, either the result or her level of play of last year. WeŽll see what happens.

Now its time to :wavey: ;)

IMO, "Confirmed" should be removed
from the title of this thread because
nothing is confirmed!

Furthermore, if it was "confirmed"
what's the need for "big chance" in there. :p
