btw, i guess if Alicia improves her results and ranking, they might pick her :) Otherwise, i think they will go with Sam, she did really well there last time.

IMO, Alicia should be thinking about building her ranking back up so that she can directly enter main draws of Grand Slams and Tier 1 tournaments. To do this, she would need to play tour events, so it is most likely that she would play Gold Coast (or even Auckland) instead of Hopman Cup.

However...

Sam has the higher ranking now and she gave up those precious Gold Coast points from last year to play the Hopman Cup this year. Those points (had she even been able to defend half of them) would have kept her higher in the rankings than she is right now. So I think it would be disrespectful to drop her just because Alicia is back in the game. Sam has the ranking and is Australia's current No. 1 player. At the very least she deserves an invitation back. Whether she takes it up or not is up to her.

If I could speculate the field for a moment...

Venus Williams and Taylor Dent have already signed up to play for the USA. Novak Djokovic has accepted an invitation to play alongside either Ana Ivanovic or Jelena Jankovic for Serbia... Now, previously, Paul McNamee has talked about inviting Roger Federer back, and also Rafael Nadal for the first time. With Martina Hingis back in the picture, the Swiss are more than likely to compete next year. Rafa has overcome his foot problems and could likely accept an invitation if they can find a suitable partner for him, like Anabel Medina Garrigues. Can you imagine the field so far?

Then how about this to boot? Russia has played the last few years with Marat Safin at the helm on most occasions. With Marat seemingly over his injury, he could be looking to return to play the Hopman Cup as it has helped in his Australian Open preparation in the past. If you'll remember, they tried to sign Maria Sharapova last year but lost to Gold Coast. Imagine if they could sign Maria to play with Marat? Even if Maria couldn't play, there's Dinara Safina, Marat's sister. Instant drawcards.

Best case scenario:

USA - Venus Williams and Taylor Dent.
SUI - Martina Hingis and Roger Federer.
RUS - Maria Sharapova and Marat Safin.
ESP - Anabel Medina Garrigues and Rafael Nadal.
SCG - Ana Ivanovic and Novak Djokovic.

How hot would a field like that be? Even if out of that lot they could only sign Federer, Hingis, Williams, Dent and Safin, it would already be considered a stellar Hopman Cup lineup.

Seriously dont laugh if they pick Jelena if she has a good couple of months she loves those situations, although if they pick Sammy or Alicia doesnt matter cause its true there is no males besides Lleyton, I so hop he plays I wanna see AUS win again

my picks for teams

Seed (1) USA Venus & Roddick
Seed (2) RUS Safina & Safin
Seed (3) BEL Clijsters & Rochus
Seed (4) SUI Hingis & Wawrinka
CZE Vaidisova & Stepanek
AUS Dokic/Molik & Hewitt
SCG Djokovic & Ivanovic

-----------------------
Qualifier
CHN Li & Peng Sun
ESP Medina & Moya (auto entry if Nadal plays, replace with SCG)

NED Krajicek & Wessels
SVK Hantuchova & Hrbaty
FRA Mauresmo/Golovin & Gasquet
THA Tanasugarn & Srichaphan

Krajice/Krajicek won't happen. It was meant to in 2005, but Richard is director of ABN ARMO tourney in Rotterdam which is like 2 weeks after AO, so he's too busy with stuff for that at the time of Hopman!

While I like alot of the other players you listed, that'd make it a pretty damn weak HC field on the girls side (Harkleroad, Flipkens, Barrois, Bremond...) ;)

Hopman Cup normally gets some big names, though last year's field wasn't very strong :o

They've already signed on Venus, so thats a good sign.

Personally, i think this a great lead up tournament :) You're guaranteed 3 matches in singles and mixed doubles, 4 if you make the final. The only downside is that you don't get any points, but i think the only tour event on at the same time is Gold Coast, and thats only a Tier 3, so its not like the top players are sacrificing a Tier 1 or 2.

I see no reason why Netherlands can't be invited back. As last year's finalists, I think Michaella and Peter should receive an invitation regardless of their rankings.

Signing Venus was a positive step towards a stellar line-up in 2007. Taylor Dent is struggling with injury at the moment and is in danger of tumbling out of the Top 100 if he doesn't make a thunderous return to the ATP Tour soon. However, his ranking should be of little consequence as he is the defending titleholder (with Lisa Raymond). If Taylor can't make it, I'm sure James Blake would happily take his place. And Blake is in the Top 10!

Which countries has the HC never had before? I'd like to see some new countries competing. Finland. Korea. India. Belarus. Chinese Taipei. There can't be many countries left where they have decent male and female representatives.

Finland - Jarkko Nieminen and Emma Laine.
Korea - Hyung-Taik Lee and Yoon Jeong Cho.
India - Leander Paes and Sania Mirza.
Belarus - Max Mirnyi and Victoria Azarenka.
Chinese Taipei - Yen-Hsun Lu and Su-Wei Hsieh.

But I have a feeling that China might be given another shot at qualifying.

Austria haven't competed here in six years. How about Jurgen Melzer and Sybille Bammer in qualifying?

I really think Perth would love to see the return of Switzerland, especially if they bring Federer and Hingis back with them. What a coup that would be. If they could somehow swing Mauresmo as well, the tournament would be able to boast both the current World No. 1's in the same tournament, which hasn't happened for a long time, if ever.

How about Nathan Healey? Playing with Sam Stosur. I reckon Healey would get stuck into it and can pump up the crowd. He's a feisty player like Hewitt. Healey is also a good doubles player. That's a bonus in this competition.

In terms of putting bums on seats, the organizers are more likely to go with Mark Philippoussis. Love him or hate him, he draws a crowd (even if the crowd are just there to watch him lose). He's a major drawcard for the Hopman Cup or anywhere around the world. Truth be told, I'd take Philippoussis over some no-name Aussie male player anyday, just because his entertainment value lies in never knowing what he's going to produce on any given day. But chances are, Philippoussis won't be extended nor accept an invitation anyway. So I wouldn't mind seeing Healey play next year.

What has been the biggest age gap between team mates in the history of the tournament? Is it Misa and Peter? I think there's a 10-year age gap there, if I'm not mistaken. Or was it Smashnova and Mansdorf back in 1993?

Oh and between Mansdorf (20-10-1965) and Smashnova (16-07-1976) there is an agedifference of 10 years, 8 months and 26 days, so they win! :D

We also had Martina Hingis and Marc Rosset in 1996, but they have an agedifference of 9 years 10 months and 23 days. :) Or Karol Kucera and Daniela Hantuchova 9 years 1 month and 19 days.

Another Interesting one: Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario (18-12-1971) and Tommy Robredo (01-05-1982) in 2002: 10 years 4 months 13 days.....

Guy Forget (04-01-1965) and Mary Pierce (15-01-1975) in 1998: 10 Years and 12 days

Richy Reneberg and Lindsay Davenport in 1995: 10 years 8 months and 3 days (1 more than Misa and Peter...:)..)

Wow! That's awesome, Dutch Women. Thanks. At least Canada wins at something. ;)

My next question was going to be how many nations have been in the situation where the female partner was older than the male partner. (I wonder who was the "boss" in those situations.) Off the top of my head...

Canada - Maureen Drake was older than Frank Dancevic.
Switzerland - Manuela Maleeva-Fragniere was older than Claudio Mezzadri.
USA - Lisa Raymond was older than Taylor Dent.
Spain - Arantxa Sanchez Vicario was older than Tommy Robredo.
Spain - Virginia Ruano Pascual was older than Tommy Robredo.
Switzerland - Miroslava Vavrinec was older than Roger Federer.
Switzerland - Martina Hingis was older than Roger Federer.
USA - Monica Seles was older than Jan-Michael Gambill.
Japan - Masako Yanagi was older than Shuzo Matsuoka.
USA - Zina Garrison was older than David Wheaton.
Ukraine - Natalia Medvedeva was older than Andrei Medvedev.
Germany - Anke Huber was older than Tommy Haas.
Australia - Nicole Provis was older than Mark Philippoussis.
Australia - Hana Mandlikova was older than Mark Woodforde.

Yes, I'm sure they have a chance of being invited, but without Hantuchova, there is no team. And since she chose Auckland over Perth last year, the chances of an invitation are slim, which is a pity since Dominik Hrbaty actually wants to play.

The USA may need to start finding a replacement for Taylor Dent. He has a lingering back problem that refuses to heal and doctors say that it may end his career. Well, here's hoping that Taylor recovers from his injury, for his own sake.

This might sound bad and a little too presumptuous, but if Dent is unable to take his place in the tournament, then I'd recommend the actual American number one and Perth fan favourite, James Blake, to take his place. That would almost certainly give USA the top seeding (unless, of course, Federer and Hingis team up for Switzerland!).

Belarus -- Azarenka/Mirnyi,

The Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) and the Hopman Cup are entering into an agreement for having Asian Hopman Cup every year before the Hyundai Hopman Cup, which is held in Perth, Australia in Dec-Jan annually. Hyundai Hopman Cup has been named after the legendary Australian Coach and player, Harry Hopman and was started in the year 1988. Eight teams take part in the event consisting of 1 male & 1 female player. The International Tennis Federation recognizes it as their official Mixed Team competition. In the year 2005, the participating teams were Russia, USA, Sweden, Serbia & Montenegro, Argentina, Australia, Germany and Netherlands.

All India Tennis Association (AITA) have been allotted this event by the ATF for a period of 3 years commencing 2006. The first Asian Hopman Cup will be held in Delhi in the week of 13 November 2006. The prize money will be US$ 70,000, which will be divided as under: -
Winner - US$ 20,000
Runner-up - US$ 12,000
2ND in each Group - US$ 10,000
3rd in each Group - US$ 9,000
The host nation will also provide free hospitality and transportation to the visiting teams.

On the basis of rankings of the top male & female players from Asia, the following countries are being invited to take part in the Asian Hopman Cup in 2006: -
1. Thailand (THA)
2. Chinese Taipei (TPE) :worship:
3. Japan (JPN)
4. India (IND)
5. Uzbekistan (UZB)
6. China (CHN)
Philippines would be the first reserve team.

The winner of the event in New Delhi will be given an entry into the Main Draw of the Hyundai Hopman Cup, which carries prize money of A$ 1,000,000.

The deciding factor for most of the Asian teams will be the strength of the female partner as a singles player AND a doubles player. Since the Asian women have been more successful than their male counterparts, you'd expect them to be the telling factor in the outcome.

For the Asian Hopman Cup to be on par with the international version, it would need all of its Asian stars to participate.

From Thailand, they'd want Tamarine Tanasugarn and Paradorn Srichaphan. From India, they'd want Sania Mirza and Leander Paes. From Japan, they'd want Ai Sugiyama. From Uzbekistan, they'd want last year's Asian Championships winners, Denis Istomin and Akgul Amanmuradova (Varvara Lepchenko rarely plays outside the US and is applying for US citizenship if she hasn't already got it). From China, they'd want any of the Top 3 Chinese women (Na Li, Jie Zheng or Shuai Peng). From Taiwan, they'd want Yeu-Tzuoo Weng.

Where is Korea? With Hyung-Taik Lee and Yoon-Jeong Cho, they'd have a good shot at qualifying for the Hopman Cup.

Maybe there's no qualifying match next year. Maybe the Asian Hopman Cup IS the qualifying match. That would make more sense than having another qualifying nation in the main draw. It would only leave room for six other nations, one of which has to be Australia, probably as a "wildcard" this year, as they were in 1999 and 2001.

If I'm wrong, then perhaps the tournament is trying to grow. Maybe the Asian Hopman Cup is just the first of a series of qualifying tournaments that will eventually unveil as the years go by. Imagine an Eastern European Hopman Cup or even a South American Hopman Cup. I wouldn't have too much faith in this concept, considering that most of the top players want to play less and are less likely to add Hopman Cup commitments to their schedule at the end of the season.

Hmm maybe you are right - they have changed the schedule on their page AND there doesn't seem to be quallies in the ticket prices now... and the tourney starts on a Saturday, not Friday... Although quallies was just called "Session 1" last year right? But session 1 now costs the same as sessions 2-8 so  Thgat'll be interesting if a team can't play coz someone gets injured... I thought that was part of the point of having quallies. ;)

I'm going to speculate that Belarus will be signing on to play next year after Max Mirnyi had to pull out this year due to scheduling conflicts. My only reason for guessing this is that Max is playing with Victoria Azarenka in the mixed doubles at the US Open this year. They could just be playing because they feel like it, but it's not exactly a long shot to think it could be practice for the Hopman Cup. You never know... ;)

Nathalie Dechy and Fabrice Santoro are also playing together at the US Open. It's been reported that they will be teaming together to play a "Hopman Cup-style" exhibition against Nathalie's best friend, Justine Henin-Hardenne, and Olivier Rochus from Belgium. I'd like to sepculate Dechy and Santoro as starters for the Hopman Cup but I'm secretly hoping that's not the case coz i find them quite boring.

I'd also like to speculate Belgium playing with Justine and Olivier (they would be one of my dream teams) but somehow I don't think Justine would start her Aussie campaign a week earlier unless she planned on not defending her Sydney title the following week. Fingers crossed for my own selfish wishful thinking, but not if it jeopardizes Justine's preparation for the Aussie Open.

I'm not sure I like the idea of an Asian Hopman Cup replacing the qualifying. Its sort of like saying that only one Asian team can get in to the main draw, when perhaps there might be more than one deserving team in the future.
I like the idea of a Hopman Cup for every continent, with the winner going into the main draw, but I doubt it'll happen.

Looking at the schedule, I am certain that they have officially given the qualifier the old cheerio. I know this may not be breaking news, but the double-header sessions have previously been 10 and 11... this year they are 9 and 10... one session has been sacrificed - qualifier.

Yeah its probably best they didnt have the qualifying. Its such a waste of time for the team that doesnt qualify, to waste a whole week without getting matches when they could be in a tournament.

Ok, so, so far, we've had one officially confirmed team of Taylor Dent and Venus Williams (i wonder whom of them will be the first to withdraw) for USA, definitely Australia with players to be confirmed later, a rumour about Serbia (speculatively with Novak Djokovic and either Ana Ivanovic or Jelena Jankovic), a rumour about Argentina (speculatively with Gisela Dulko and David Nalbandian), plus an Asian qualifier to be decided later in the year.

USA, AUSTRALIA, SERBIA, ARGENTINA, QUALIFIER.

Also looking at the Dutch as possibilities, being this year's finalists. Plus there's always talk of getting the allegedly, always-keen Roger Federer back - the only problem having been to sign up a strong female partner for him (all eyes on Martina Hingis now). Russia possibly looking to make another appearance - hard to overlook them when there are so many strong female players around. Marat Safin must be considered a strong possibility to return - he loves the format, just not "Hawkeye." ;) Other possibilities include Germany (bookie's favourites this year - Kiefer keen to play again) and Belarus (Max Mirnyi to make amends for missing this year). Meaning, two of these countries mentioned will miss out.

Signing Venus Williams was a coup for the tournament, but I hope they have a back-up plan, unlike this year when Marat Safin pulled out and the star quality dropped off the face of the earth, with the exception of Kiefer (being the stud that he is) and Gaudio (now that's a hot piece of ass) - 'Fat Dave' is a downgrade by comparison. :p ;)

Yes, and as I posted before, sessions 1-8 are the same price... quallies used to be session 1, and was like half price of the other sessions (2-9). ;)

I am still sceptical regarding the admission of Belarus... France haven't been invited back since Tati stuffed up her scheduling.

I reckon Sweden may be invited back, they hinted at that after the last Hopman Cup.

I'm still crossing my fingers for Switzerland, so... :p ;)

The Swiss are a possibility because Roger was asked if he would like to play last year. He accepted the invitation and the organizers set about finding a suitable female partner. Schnyder was asked if she would partner Roger but she turned the invite down (silly girl!) to play Gold Coast. Roger was also asked to play in this year's event to fill the marquee spot left vacant when Sharapova declined an invitation to play Gold Coast (but didn't play anyway). He declined as he had already committed to Doha. With Hingis back in the picture, surely the organizers would at least try to get these two back together to "defend" their 2001 title. But a pairing like that would be HUGE news and hard to keep a secret. So i guess if Federer, Hingis or Sharapova had committed, we'd know about it by now. Damn, i just talked myself out of it! :(

Maybe we're looking at another bleak tournament. Having Venus Williams onboard is great but the Hopman Cup needs more stars to make it seem more worthy of standing alongside Fed Cup and Davis Cup.

If you recall back to the last page, i was making a list of possible countries based on what people had either heard or seen. The USA, Australia and the Asian qualifiers were definites. Someone speculated Serbia, someone else speculated Croatia, and someone else speculated Argentina - all of them based on what that person had read in newspapers or online. This was just to see what the field might look like if it was all true.

So, so far, it's USA, AUSTRALIA, ARGENTINA, SERBIA, CROATIA and ASIAN QUALIFIERS.

Maybe we're looking at another bleak tournament. Having Venus Williams onboard is great but the Hopman Cup needs more stars to make it seem more worthy of standing alongside Fed Cup and Davis Cup.

Bringing the big names would bring the status of the tournament up, however, I have always relied on HC to showcase players that I rarely, or hadn't at all, gotten to see before... Thanks to HC I have actually become a fan of many players such as Misa, Ana, Novak, Dominik Hrbaty & Fedz (coz he finally got Martina that HC title she deserved) and just increased my love of others such as Martina & Daniela... Then without HC there are other players that I would never have seen play at all before like Sofia A & Babora S... Don't we get enough of the top players shown at the Slams, HC is time for players from all ranking levels to be equals and shown equally! With saying that, I would loooove Sharapova to play! :p

My dream teams playing would include, Serbia (Ana/Novak, but Jelena would be good 2), Slovakia (Daniela/Dominik), Russia (Sharapova or Kirilenko/Davydenko), France (Tati/Richard), Netherlands (Misa/anyone), Switzerland (Martina/Fedz), Belgium (Kimmi/Malisse), and I suppose Australia, if I must (Sam/anyone but Hewitt or Scud)...

as i said, it was time they brought spain back..

article from tennis australia http://www.tennisaustralia.com/pages/News.aspx?id=4&pageid=122&handlerid=3&newsid=2205

Robredo for Hyundai Hopman Cup

Perth, October 4 - Former Hyundai Hopman Cup winner and world No. 8, Tommy Robredo, will return to Perth this summer to represent Spain in the ITF Mixed Teams Tennis Championship, partnering Anabel Medina Garrigues.

Robredo, the No. 2 Spaniard behind Rafael Nadal, has won two titles this season - the Masters Series Hamburg and in Bastad - and boasts a 42-23 record.

The 24-year-old Robredo is aiming for his first year-end ATP Top-10 finish.

Robredo was a 19-year-old rising star when he won the Hyundai Hopman Cup with Spanish legend Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario in 2002. His blistering forehand took Spain to a thrilling victory over the USA as he came back from championship point down against Jan Michael Gambill to level the final with victory in the third set tie break.

Tommy Robredo: aiming for a top 10 finish in 2006.

Robredo’s partner is Spain’s No. 1 female player and ranked 28 in the world. Garrigues, who is also 24, is having her best year on Tour, reaching a career-high ranking of 23 in singles and 15 in doubles, winning two singles titles in Canberra and Palermo. She also reached the singles ffinal of the WTA tour event in Guangzhou, in China last week and in doubles earlier this year she reached the Semi-Finals of Roland Garros.

Spain is the second team confirmed for this year’s event, along with the USA, represented by defending champion Taylor Dent and former world No. 1 Venus Williams, the winner of five Grand Slam singles titles who will make her debut appearance in Perth.

Hyundai Hopman Cup XIX is the official Mixed Teams Competition of the ITF and will be held at the Burswood Dome from 30 December 2006 to 5 January 2007.

Grr... was hoping to be the first to post this awesome new bit of information, but I got beaten.

Anyway, here is the Sportal article:
Spanish world No.8 Tommy Robredo has confirmed he will return to Perth later this year to partner Anabel Medina Garrigues in the Hopman Cup.

The 24-year-old, who has won two ATP titles this season, teamed up with Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario five years ago to take out the title over the USA after coming back from championship point down to beat Jan Michael Gambill in a thrilling third-set tie-breaker.

Robredo and Medina Garrigues, who is ranked 28th in the world, will join American pair Venus Williams and Taylor Dent at the mixed teams event.

Other teams are still yet to be confirmed.

Medina Garrigues, 24, has won two singles titles this season in Canberra and Palermo and reached the final in China last week.

Former world No.1 Williams, the winner of five Grand Slam singles titles, will make her debut at the Hopman Cup this year.
________________________________

Regarding Tommy and Venus as the headliners.... think back to last year, the main star in Safin wasn not revealed until the day before, and other stars Gaudio, Sveta were not announced until the group was.

Spain vs USA...mmmmmmm.......

Regarding Tommy and Venus as the headliners.... think back to last year, the main star in Safin wasn not revealed until the day before, and other stars Gaudio, Sveta were not announced until the group was.

Spain vs USA...mmmmmmm.......

Spain would win. either 2-1 or 3-0. I aint sure Venus will be as dominant as a "headliner" should be!!!

And West Coast premiers. Please get over it!!! This is one off!!! And Carlton will be there next year... mayb... probley not... defienitly not :(

That's okay. I like Tommy Robredo. :)

Although, wouldn't it be a tad awkward if Gisela Dulko happened to be playing too, given their past? Ooh, should be interesting. There's probably no hard feelings between them anyway. I figured it was most likely a media beat-up more than anything else.

So now there's TWO confirmations:

USA - Venus Williams, Taylor Dent
SPAIN - Tommy Robredo, Anabel Medina Garrigues

Doesn't look particularly enticing so far. It needs at least two more big names other than Venus. ;)

Sure as hell doesn't look enticing at the moment. Plus Australia will be there, and the Asian quallifying team (from the other "Hopman Cup").

Only leave 4 spots left...

Thats 3 spots realli. They need to pull out a couple of big names out of them. Serbia are reasonable but they aint new. They need atleast a top 10 guy or a top 10 girl. Is it just me or does it look like the women are gonna be reasonable weak this year. again!

well croatia are supposedly also confirmed, so that's another top 10 guy

as for the women, i don't really know...i only like ATP (but wtaworld has a better hopman cup forum hence the reason i write here)

Come on Swiss!!! That would be a massive draw card!!! Anyway now that priority season tickets have been done less disscuss tickets!!!! I got mine a couple of weeks ago. Block 30 Row B Seat 1 and 2. So i got aisle and in second row. Pretty happy but being that low and on that side sometimes ya get the umpire seat in the way. But the TV always shows that part of the crowd!!!

There was a story on Hewitt 2day. He is not playing for the rest of the year and his first tourney will be Adelaide, so he is out

i think i would rather see Wayne as well, but why not get Luczak or Healey in. Try out a new Aussie male player, it couldnt hurt.

I wud like Luzak. But they had that chance last year and the yearb4 but they went for Wayne and Mark. So i expect the same. I already hav me tickets and if it is mark, there is no way i will be watching his singles matches. I hav no respect for him whatso ever

A team of Healey/Alicia or Healey/Jelena would be awesome i think! get some fresh new players, I'd rather see a new combination then a combination like Alicia/Wayne, Alicia/Mark that we've seen (and seen lose mind you) in the past.

I don't have a problem with Mark Philippoussis playing. Australia won't be winning next year anyway. So it's a good chance for him to get some match practice, whether he wins or loses. I think a Philippoussis and Dokic reunion is simply a must-have! They aren't ranked as highly as they used to be but they ARE former champions. They deserve respect for that.

Agree with u here, if Mark playing means that Jelena plays as well than i can handle that! I think the Hopman could be just what Jelena needs, she is guarenteed matches, not only in singles but doubles as well, and if the Aussie supporters get behind her in Perth then she would have alot of confidence possibly playing some events in the Australian Summer.

Why is it a guarrentee that if Mark plays Jelena play. Also if TA is having trouble contacting Jelena what chance to Paul have to offer her an invite?? And surely she will be behind Stosur, Pratt, and Molik in invites just because of rankings. Whereas Mark wud onli be behin Hewitt (we know he is going to Adelaide) and Wayne. So Jelena is unlikley. I wud like to see it but it wont happen

well paul asks the best frm the country so in mens it b mark then i think it b luzcuk i think isnt wayne retiring didnt he say he was retiring after this season?

in womens sam did say she lovs playing for country and would come bck next yr if she was asked so shed get first invite if she chooses to go to gold coast then it be alicia but i have a feeling she is on a good role atm that shed like to get ranking points

so both women an mens is very open =(

It's not a guarentee, and nowhere did i mention it being a guarentee.
I meant that it wouldn't be so bad Mark playing if Jelena played with him.
Honestly it wouldn't be so bad Mark playing anyway, just that I would rather see a new team combination for Australia.
I know she isn't exactly top of the list for the organizers to contact, I agree with you i would like to see it happen but it probably won't.

If Mark and Jelena played together there is no way in Hell I'd go to any Australian session (erm, unless they played NL, and then I'd be there cheering for NL! ).
