After both of her last matches in post conference she has talked about holding her nerve. We all already know she is mentally tough. She trying to send a message or something?

JHH gets nervous too. She doesnt' sleep well, barely in 2nd wk of GS, I think that message is loud and clear. Yes she's tough, but she's human, and all these top players get nervous closing it out, especially in tight situations.

She is cash money in the big situations though, sleep or no sleep. The only time I feel she has fell short recently was at this years AO final.

I am not sure why she keep talking about it. Does she feel she has been struggling with it?

She's gave up that big lead in Miami to ED, and I think that brought back memories. IN some of her other matches this year (eg. Berlin) she couldn't get it together to close it out. At FO this year she she served for the match against Myskina and lost 4 more games before she won it.

Justine feels that she has always struggled with nerves, and always will struggle with nerves. So she knows she needs to pay close attention to how well she is handling those nervous situations; for her, this is the crucial difference between winning championships and being an also-ran.

Justien is the kind of person who'll never do enough, se could achieve the grand slam and be number one, she'll always feel like she's not good enough... I don't think it's really good for her, but it definitely makes her a much solid player

I agree...I think that she is setting her goals too high...which is not a problem actually...but im kinda scared that if she doesnt get it...she might be punishing herself by working 10 more hours than normal...which in turn might be bad for her health...

I don't know but she needs to hold a Gaviscon along with holding her nerve, especially since this really could be her best chance at Wimbledon. That's a lot of pressure.

I am sure she holds her hubbys blouse while he is walking over to the male locker room :p

She wants it so badly she can't even sleep sometimes. Maybe one day she'll get to a relaxed, confident place in tennis. She also is very respectful, sometimes too respectful, of her peers.

I think she's just proud of herself.

Justine learned a hard lesson when she was schooled by Venus in that Amelia Island final a few years ago. (When Justine blew a big lead up a set and - I forget if it was 1 break or 2 - and Vee switched to playing backboard tennis to won the title in a tight 3 setter). Since then, any time she's been healthy and in a tight match, she's generally prevailed. And won every Slam final she's made, except for Oz this year. Clearly a "clutch hitter".
