View Full Version : Who will win??? Stosur or Krajicek???

jas_aussie
Jun 24th, 2006, 01:25 AM
Sam Stosur will play Krajicek in the first round of wimbledon. This looks like it will be a good match with how Krajicek is playing at the moment and Stosur who has a great serve and with Sammy winning their match at the hopman cup 6-4 7-6. This match could go either way but i think Sammy should get through in two sets 7-6 7-5.

Kraijcek. She's in good form, and Stosur couldn't even qualify for Eastbourne. :help: Don't forget, Hopman Cup is played in Australia. ;)

given their form you'd have to go with Michaella as much as i want Sam to take this one.... i think ultimately it will be decided on whether consistent Sam or wild Sam steps out on court

Misa received a wildcard last year but injured her knee at Ordina open QF  and had to pull out!!

Krajicek winning her home title might be the best thing for Sam. Misa might suffer a let-down, this might be the factor that gets Sam over the line.

ppl say sams game is perfect for grass but michaellas flat groundstrokes are actually much better for the surface. and im sure most of the match will be played from the baseline so krajicek definitely has the advantage...
go sam!

mboyle
Jun 25th, 2006, 01:41 AM
Krajicek will win either way. If it is close, Momo will almost certainly win. If Misa destroys Stosur, who is, by all accounts, a superb grasscourter, Amelie had better watch out. I have a feeling Misa is gonna do big things this Wimbledon...

Krajicek has never played at wimbledon before thats weird.weird because? She's only 17, she was meant to play for the first time last year, but got injured at Rosmalen the week before. I was there, and I was also going to Wimby to see her make her debut... :(

No its not that funny Sarah :p

Sami has got a great grass court game with her serve and attacking game and if she played like she did in Australia this would be a no brainer she has more to her game than Misa. Its just Sami has these mental blocks and struggles sometimes to win the matches she should, thus she has never won a match @ Wimbledon when she really should have.

 So?

it's a pity, coz I don't mind Sam, so this isn't a nice draw for me. And Amelie in the second round for either of them...blah...

Well, hopefully Alicia will win some rounds! :p

I'm sorry, did you not follow tennis this last week or? :p Sam lost in the QUALLIES at Eastbourne, while Misa beat #8, #17, #19, #29 and #44 (or so) in the world to win Rosmalen! :p Misa only just lost to Sam at HC, and Misa's grass record is far better than Sam's! :p

 Hate to say it....Sam's gonna get smashed. It will be 2 sets because Sam herself continues to fold overseas...and Tennis Australia keeps pretending to look after the talent of this country. This continual refute to aid players that avoid the AIS (and who wouldn't) is embarrassing. Dianne Balastrat is still keen to work I hear..perhaps she would have too much to say?
