By Emma Thomasson

DEN BOSCH, Netherlands (Reuters) - Angry Russian top seed Elena Dementieva hit out at Dutch match officials on Friday after she lost the semi-final of the Ordina Open to local favourite Michaella Krajicek 1-6 7-6 6-4.

"I feel like I won this match. I think the line umpires were trying to help her during the whole game," the world number eight told journalists.

"It was not easy to play because she had a much bigger court than the normal size. Every ball that was going out was in.

"I understand she was playing at home and the crowd want her to be in the final and it's good for the tournament but, you know, it must be fair play," the 24-year-old said.

Clearly superior in the first set, Dementieva said she lost concentration after officials called a shot out at matchpoint in the second set.

Krajicek, ranked 55 in the world, went on to take the set in a tiebreak.

Cheered on by the Dutch crowd, the 17-year-old saved two break points on her serve in the ninth game of the third set, then went on to break Dementieva to take the match.

"That was the best match of my career," Krajicek said. "I never thought I could win but it is great that it happened."

Despite her anger, Dementieva said the tournament in Den Bosch had helped her prepare for Wimbledon.

"If feel like I own my game on grass courts and I feel good so I just need a couple of days to recover...I'm sure I'm going to be ready for Monday," she said.

Krajicek's opponent in Saturday's final will be Russian second seed Dinara Safina who beat Eleni Daniilidou of Greece 6-3 3-6 6-4.

This is not a nice reaction from Elena....
That ball from Misa on matchpoint for Elena was really in.....and the officials also gave the ball in. The ball was on the line.....and Elena had so many chances to win this match, but she didn't take it.... it's her fault that she lost that match, not the fault of the officials.

well its rare for Elena to ever complain about officials ,in fact in all my years of folowing her ,never seen it before ,so theres something in it ,and it would suprise me at all if theres some "home" advantage, its happened before ,hence why a lot of home players do well in their own touney to only crash and burn anywhere else..

I do agree however that Elena has to start getting more solid in these moments and stop letting them get to her ,she has to retain focus ,sometimes her mental balance goes awry and the whole mental house of cards goes ass over tit and comes crashing down ,she needs to adress this problem..

It's not because of the home advantage that Misa won this match, she played very good. Certain in the second en third set. But Elena also don't took the chances she had. She could serve for the match at 5-4 in the second set and was up in the tiabreak with 4-0 and 5-2.

I saw it on the television and that ball really touched the line.....and yeah as a dutch one I was supporting for Misa, but I have nothing against Elena. If that ball was really out, than I would have said that too.

Maybe there were some calls in her disadvantage, but that's not the reason she lost this match. That's her own fault. She had enough chances.

She sounds pissed about it but surely the umpire was not Dutch as it was a Dutch player who was playing.
I think though with players sometimes when they get a bad line call (or what they peceive as one) and especially when the crowd is supporting the other player they lose trust in the officials and feel every line call is a wrong call.

fact is, it's not the reason Elena lost the match. she had so many chances, and not every single one of those chances went lost in an incorrect call.

Sounds reasonable to me. I mean if they were cheating they could only do it so much, and I have no doubt that Elena choked it away given her leads in the second set tie-break and winning only one point on her serve at 4-5 third set.

U.S. Open semi last year, accused Pierce of cheating. Elena had trounced her in the first set then Pierce goes for a long back massage and comes back a new woman... ;) Elena probably does need to do less blaming and take a closer look at her choking.

You're correct it was Serena's fault for losing concentration at the Open just like it was her fault for losing concentration at the French. The difference is that Serena never said those bad situations were the cause of her losing which is what Dementieva is doing. Sure she was pissed at Justine and rightly so but she never said that was the reason she lost. So please stop trying to bring Serena into this. This is all about Elena and what she had to say.

Elena had trounced her in the first set then Pierce goes for a long back massage and comes back a new woman... ;) Elena probably does need to do less blaming and take a closer look at her choking. Not true. As I just posted elsewhere, Even in her disgust over the USO last year, Elena declined several press invitations to complain about Pierce. She repeated several times that what Pierce did was entirely within the rules. After about the 4th question on the subject, "But don't you think it was a little unfair the way this was done?", she responded, "Yes, but it's all legal." That was the extent of her "complaint." She was entitled to a lot more. And even if she did complain about calls in the match against Michaella, she did it with some wit: "It was not easy to play because she had a much bigger court than the normal size. Every ball that was going out was in."  Now every one of the ESPN commentators thought Pierce's delay was a gross abuse of the rules. Mary Carrillo said it was "a crime." But Elena did not accuse Pierce of 'cheating,' even tho' the media wanted to hear it.

Don't know what Elena is complaining about. The view from the complaining player's side can be much different from the view we see on tv. Happens all the time, more particularly if it is close. And if the player is right on top of the ball, in the heat of a point, they will also get a distorted view of it relative to the line.If you look at the article again Elena seems to be talking about many balls, not just one.... I know this can happen as there has often been an orgy of cheating for Agassi in the U.S.I don't know if there has been an orgy of cheating anywhere, but I've occasionally seen an orgy of incompetence by line judges. One tournament I've been at (which shall remain nameless) had a such a flurry of bad calls that the players were just looking at each other and  . Even when some of the calls were in their favor, they just shook their heads. They just played on, hoping to last until the next shift of linesmen came on.

It happens all the time that players see a ball out and the ball is in our that they think their ball is in while it is out. And when you see it, you really do believe that that ball was out (our in).

Dementieva is not a person who is going to lie, she really believed that ball was out and maybe that was where she lost her concentration. It is just bad that on gras you can not check it like on gravel.

I hope the Hawk-Eye is comming verry soon.

even though i'm a fan of both, elena lost this match herself. not because of a bad call(wich i think was a good call) at a matchpoint. she was also 4-0 and 5-2 up in the tiebreak and still lost it by producing a df an error and a good point by misa to make it 5-5. and after 5-5 a df at setpoint for misa. that's just her own doing.
