I think it's "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn" ~Rhett Butler, Gone With The Wind.

What do you think?

"This town needs an enema!" -- Jack Nicholson, "Batman"

"Leave the gun. Take the canoli." -- "The Godfather" (I don't remember the actor's name)

"Gentlemen, there's no fighting in here! This is a war room!" -- Peter Sellers, "Dr. Strangelove"

Every line uttered in Valley of the Dolls, Showgirls, and Mommie Dearest became instant classics the moment they were spoken.

How about...
"You talking to me?" Robert DeNiro "Taxi"

"I'm gonna make him an offer he can't refuse" Don Corleone "The Godfather"

"I did not shoplift the pootie!" -- Tom Cruise, "Jerry Maguire"

"Show me the money" and "You had me at hello" got all the hype, but they weren't the best lines.

"Is that a gun in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?" :haha: I LOVE that line!

AND....My all-time fav!!

"I know what you're thinking. Did he fire six shots or only five? Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya punk?" :worship: :worship:

Valley of the Dolls:

Helen Lawson: "The only hit that comes out of a Helen Lawson show is Helen Lawson, and that's ME, baby, remember?"
Jennifer North: On the phone with her mother, "I know I don't have any talent, mother, and I am doing my bust exercises. But I just sent you $50 last week, mother. Ok, I'll send you $50 more. I'll sell the mink tomorrow and wire you the money." Hang up phone, does a few "bust exercises" and then says, "To hell with 'em, let 'em droop" and goes to bed.
Anne Welles: "It's a marriage bed, Lyon, were you thinking of marriage?" And then when he finally proposes in the last scene and she responds, "I've dreamt of this moment for years, but now that it's come, I feel nothing." Then she puts a coat on and leaves the house to walk in the woods with a stick, even though it's her house.
Neely O'Hara: "Ted Casablanca is NOT a FAG! And I'm the dame who can prove it." And then when her first husband gets mad at her for ordering him around and complains that he's not the butler, Neely responds, "You're not the breadwinner, either!"

The Color Purple is the best movie ever and one most cheated by not winning an Oscar because of politics.

Some of my favorite lines:
"You sho is ugly!"
"God not go bless you 'til you do right by me!"
"I's married now."

"Leave the gun. Take the canoli." -- "The Godfather" (I don't remember the actor's name)

It was Richard Castellano as Clemenza.

How about these:

"Fredo, you're my older brother, and I love you. But don't ever take sides with anyone against the Family again. Ever." -- Al Pacino in The Godfather

"No. I am your father." -- Darth Vader, The Empire Strikes Back.

and a couple from Casablanca both uttered by Humphrey Bogart

"Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she had to walk into mine."

"Ilsa, I'm no good at being noble, but it doesn't take much to see that the problems of three little people don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world. Someday you'll understand that. Now, now... Here's looking at you kid."

A whole bunch of great lines came out of Casablanca. By the time I finally watched that movie, I was surprised by how many are in our everyday language.

The best line ever is from Back to the Future....

Doc: Who's President of the United States in 1985?
Marty: Ronald Reagan
Doc: Ronald Reagan, the actor? Who's Vice President, Jerry Lewis? I suppose Jane Wyman is the First Lady and Jack Benny is Secretary of the Treasury!

Legend has it that Reagan made them replay that scene when he saw it in theatres!

A couple more classics:

The Empire Strikes Back:
Darth Vader (to Luke) No. I am your father. (for sheer shock value)

Leia: I love you
Han: I know

I always thought "Louis, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship." is the most famous movie quote. Casablanca, of course.

This is my favourite, though:

David Drumlin: I know you must think this is all very unfair. Maybe that's an understatement. What you don't know is I agree. I wish the world was a place where fair was the bottom line, where the kind of idealism you showed at the hearing was rewarded, not taken advantage of. Unfortunately, we don't live in that world.
Ellie Arroway: Funny, I've always believed that the world is what we make of it.

It's from Contact.

:o I really liked Never Been Kissed. There were a lot of good lines from that movie :hearts: My favorite would have to be:

Does he notice me? Does he hear my heart screaming his name? Sometimes it's so loud I think the gods can hear my pain. His voice is so mellifluous. Oh, to get just one small kiss
:smooch: :hearts:  .

How bout some of these Bette Davis gems:

What a Dump!

And when you kissed me I used to wipe my mouth....WIPE MY MOUTH!

I'm just a fool; just an old sentimental fool!

My favorite line is the end of Lost Boys when Grandpa takes a swig of rootbeer and says, "One thing I could never swallow about Santa Paula is all the damn vampires."

Much of course to the shock of his already vampire, battle-worn family.

An absolute gem everytime I watch it.

I think the best movie line of all time should be this:-

"Go Ahead... Make My Day!" ;)

But for my all-time favourite movie line, it's this:-
