That was a real thriller!!! All TV channels seemed to show Brasil against Japan but the Dutch TV showed Australia's match, I guess because of Hiddink.
The Aussies showed a lot of heart and it was necessary coz they had two people against them:
1) the referee
2) their own goalkeeper :tape:

What was that goalkeeper for Aussies, that second goal I think most people could have saved that shot it wasnt hit hard, The Aussie commentators were fithly with his skills, didn't matter though Harry saved the day

Unbelievable. They play all heart, and that's the most you could hope for in a team...That and a decent goalkeeper :p

:woohoo: Well Done Aussies!!! :woohoo:

Man, that was one game to remember, because of the Australian goalkeeper's "childish" error , the "handball" that never was , and Graham Poll's "10 minutes of madness":-

1) Three red cards... and how did he FORGOT to send off the Croatian player after TWO YELLOW CARDS is mindboggling... he did show the red later, but after a THIRD YELLOW. And they call him the best referee from England... :tape:
2) The throw-in during the stoppage time... first to Croatia, then there were 2 balls on the field, and then Graham decides to "give" the throw in to Australia

WHAT A BLOODY DRAMA!!!

That was absolute chaos... the first chance I had to watch a full match and I got a heart attack!!!

Great draw though, we deserved to go through, the Croatians hung back after their goals. And it's kind of fitting that the "golden boy" of Australian football (yes I call it football now :p) scores the vital goal.

Oh, and Schwarzer for keeper in Italy!

No, don't be sorry, you're exactly right.

It was a good game, i think they can beat Italy next coz I think Italy are a bit overrated. I don't think Schwarzer will be replaced again any time soon!

Hopefully Ecuador can shock England

I think he brought on kalac cause he's croatian but I don't think he will do such a thing again.

And Poll went crazy after the not given penalty kick in first half. Australia deserved one before they got one. Deserved another in the second half and than the red card madness. The first two were correct, but the third one he forgot to send him off. And after the final whistle he gave him a third yellow (which isn't possible, cause you can only give a red card after the match not a yellow).

If Schwarzer don't play the game against Italy and we would lose 0-2 or 0-3 :p We need him to keep the World Cup dreams alive! :D

First of all, he brought on Kalac because he wasn't satisfied about Schwarzer.

Second, I believe you can even give players on the bench a yellow card...as well as during the break. And also after the match me thinks.

Either way, i think we can all agree the ref made some terrible decisions :tape:

If Croatia had won 2-1 it would've been ugly, because of that goal. Why? Kalac is of Croatian descent. :help:

Well done Australia. I was so happy, when Kewell scored, I started jumping up and down. :o

i got so nervous everytime the ball was near the aussie goalie coz he was SO bad :tape:

Me too. And I have the impression that as soon as the ball was coming near his goal, all the Aussie players were trying to stand in front of the goal as if there was actually noone standing in it!
Maybe it would have been better if they had no goalkeeper yesterday, at least then he could not do anything wrong.
They guy is taller than 2 meters they said, but he really looked like a big rabbit caught in the headlights in that goal. I guess completely overwhelmed by the occasion. Hiddink better put Schwarzer back for the next game...

What a nerve-wracking match, and I'm not even an Aussie! I was happy for the supporters in the stands, they came from so far to watch their team. It's always great to see the inflattable kangaroos. There was even someone with an inflattable croc! :D
