I haven't but I do know that HIV is spreading very, very rapidly in Russia. Take condoms!

Its very much a homophobic atmosphere in Moscow, and most of Russia. St. Pete has an okay gay scene.

Um. If you really want some go to Kitai-Gorod. Its like a red-light district, but not as safe. And hopefully youre not that desperate. Oh, the sex age is 16, but Russian boys arent very safe, so itd be best to go for the older ones.

There is a fun gay club called the Three Monkeys, Tri Obez'yany. Also the Propaganda Club is quite fun. Its kind of nasty, but a good atmosphere. Its a gay club on Sundays only, but its open the whole week. There is no cover fee on Sundays to get in. There are two other clubs Samovolka and Baza. I would prefer the first two over these.

Um. Im not sure if any of you have been to Russia, but kids start going to clubs as early as 13. I see no problem with it either.

And I do hang out there often because I go back every summer. I havent been back this year, I go back on the 11th, but not to Moscow this time.

He asked and I told him, I dont see the big deal.

I saw the same in Croatia, kids smoke at like 14 and go to clubs and drink. No one cares. People have such a Westernized view, and generalize what standerds are high, etc... Personally, I've never bene the one to go out too much, 1 or twice in the month the most (and I'm 21!), but if you do, good for you for living your life. Just make sure to be as safe as possible!!

No, I was just saying that it doesn't sound like a safe place to hangout.

Definitely.

Its a shame really. I dont know what education is like in Russia, but i hope that they know the risks and dangers. And if they do, and still have sex unprotected... stupidness i guess.

What is it like going out in Russia on a night?
I have a vision of very unsafe. Maybe im naive, maybe its just like Leeds on a friday night.

Kids 13 years old going to gay clubs most likely to hook up? That's sad.

It's not that no one cares, it's.. well it's weird. lol See, I'm 23, and when I go out with friends and stuff we all find it quite disturbing to find 13yos getting drunk in bars (oh and all the 12yo girls wearing soooooo much make up:( ). The going out age has started to come down only recently. I guess it's the parenting skills that are degrading or something... But, then again, on the other hand, I lived in the States and I really don't agree with their drinking policies either. (In Croatia the legal drinking age is 18, but it's not really enforced) The thing is that when you're, I don't know, 20, you're bound to want to try out alchohol, and most likely keep trying it out. But since in the States it's such a big no no to be caught drinking in college, and since everyone is drinking (and doing other stuff) anyway, when something bad happens things get nasty. I remember I was greeted to my University with a story about MIT freshmen not driving their wasted friend to hospital because they were scared they were gonna be kicked out of the Uni resulting in the kid suffocating in his own puke. Here, you don't have to think about getting kicked out, you get the poor kid straight to the hospital. I realize it's an extreme case, but stuff like that does happen.

Shit, that got waaay off topic. :o

To sort of get back to the topic... 13 yearolds don't go to gay bars here cause there aren't any. Well, ok, there is one (right around the corner from me, actually), but no kids that age are deffinately not out in Croatia.

hmm, that's not on topic either. Bleh
