Jelena shouldn't retire. She's silly if she thinks all she needs to get back to the top is to play. She needs to be a step faster than she was in 2002. Look at Hantuchova. She was a top ten player but I doubt she'll ever get back there. She's worked hard though to get even in the top twenty. If Dokic does everything in her power to get better she could be a top thirty player again. She's going to have to play doubles, she's going to have to get fitter, she's going to have to work on her defense, she's going to have to work on her strategies in a match, and she's going to have to strip down. She needs to stop the drama. It's not helping her in the least.

In tennis you actually have to work smart and hard and for one she has never shown that, just looking to be handed stuff. She is just learning life lessons the hard way and wasting her life completelly being misguided

actually it's because her father screwed her up,he took her away from australia,got her some really weird coaches.he was really mean,so it's not because she's SHIT,it's because she had some major personal problems,so for you to say that she's not high in the rankings becuase she's shit is complete bullshit.

The question here was, why she slumped so suddenly after the Bovina match.
Why she started to go down just at that point of her carriere.

She's not over, people are always quick to count players out and then are often proven wrong. It will take time but she is young and she'll be back as long as she's willing to put in the effort.
