Yeah that's what I thought. Maria is completely hopeless.

That is Maria's worst loss of the year. Cetkovska has done little apart from win a few 25K's but that's good enough against Maria.

Retirement must surely be near

Its scary how much we agree!

I think US Open will be her finally tournament - if she gets into Qualies!

Well, Dokic reached a $25K 2R and she is ready for the top ten, so maybe Cetkovska is too. Don't get down on yourself. MVK's power game should lift her into the top 20 alongside Dokic and Stevenson by the end of the year!

Maria  She was so solid and intelligent on court until like one year ago... I think we won't see her again...

I remember watching her play against Clijsters at the US Open last year and wondering, "How the hell did she get to the 4th round?" She could barely win points against Kim that match and looked horrible out there, almost like a junior player.

10 months later and it's clear she has maintained that form. Apparently those three wins at the US Open were her last gasp.

Your *sarcasm* isn't working there.

God she wasn't that bad, Kim was unbeatable that night.

10 months later, and she's won 2 matches on tour :help:

I think you're all being a bit hard on her...she has had a fairly good career...so she is dwindling at the end of her career..thats fairly normal isnt it?

Happens to many players..I wouldnt say they are 'hopeless' though.

MVK has posted some good results even the the last couple of years, so get off her case!

Ivanovic lost to her somehow even if she was injured and hasn't been the same since :fiery:

Specially if you consider we're talking about Vento. Her career has been all about going from top 50 to #150 and then back.

This is pathetic, though :retard: She has a decent game when she's on, definitely top 100, but she's way out of shape for a pro sportswoman. She got to top 50 once again thanks to Pat Etcheverry's help in fitness training, but now she just seems to be going nowhere.
