Unfortunate. Schedulers had no option. Late withdrawal in the doubles. :/ And qualifying has to be done. Poor Akiko.

I remember when Sugiyama won Scottsdale(the last year it was played I believe), she had to play her SF(to finish from the day before in singles) and F in both singles and doubles in one day, and won both.
