Place your bets...
Lindsay Davenport - Is she pregnant?MH0861 Jun 19th, 2006, 07:45 PM Place your bets... Aaron. Jun 19th, 2006, 07:47 PM Hell no  The Daviator Jun 19th, 2006, 07:48 PM I don't think so, why would she get pregnant whilst still active? I know some things can happen unexpectedly, but she's been married for 3 years, and no babies as yet ;) watchdogfish Jun 19th, 2006, 08:04 PM It seems unlikely. I agree with The Daviator, why would she get pregnant when she hasn't retired from the game? She still seems keen to return CrossCourt~Rally Jun 19th, 2006, 08:06 PM :) It seems unlikely. I agree with The Daviator, why would she get pregnant when she hasn't retired from the game? She still seems keen to return Accidents do happin.... :) pcrtennis Jun 19th, 2006, 08:08 PM no faboozadoo15 Jun 19th, 2006, 08:10 PM :) Accidents do happin.... :) but then why would she commit to events after wimbledon. it just doesn't make any sense. i feel like lindsay isn't going to run and hide because she's exprecting a baby after 3 years of marriage. it's not exactly scandalous. Denise4925 Jun 19th, 2006, 08:40 PM I say yes, because where did this shoulder injury come from? mike/topgun Jun 19th, 2006, 08:42 PM it'b be great to hear that she's pregnant, and that's exactly why she pulled out etc...but imho she's struggling with her back, and it seems that my previous predictions bout her injury are going to fulfil, unfortunately:tape: Dawn Marie Jun 19th, 2006, 08:44 PM No it's the injury to her back. Tennis is a demanding sport. Physical. Players get injured all the time. This is nothing new. Denise4925 Jun 19th, 2006, 08:44 PM it'b be great to hear that she's pregnant, and that's exactly why she pulled out etc...but imho she's struggling with her back, and it seems that my previous predictions bout her injury are going to fulfil, unfortunately:tape: I thought the official word was a shoulder injury. When did she get that? hablo Jun 19th, 2006, 08:46 PM I voted no but if she's pregnant we will find out soon enough - it's not like she can hide that for too long... NyCPsU Jun 19th, 2006, 08:46 PM i voted no and hope its a no just so we can see her on the court again soon though a baby would be wonderful news for her and her family too! Elldee Jun 19th, 2006, 08:47 PM I think so. SelesFan70 Jun 19th, 2006, 08:47 PM If she is...1 more Republican! :p No.1Hingis Jun 19th, 2006, 08:48 PM Nok... is just the injury.. cause.. sooner or later the pregnancy gonna be evident... and opinnion will be out (gonna be worse with time).. so.. No.. if was that, sure she most told that as a big and mature girl.. Im sure she is not at time.. Denise4925 Jun 19th, 2006, 08:51 PM The reason I think she may be pregnant and keeping it quiet is because most women during the first trimester of a pregnancy don't want everyone knowing that they are pregnant in the event they lose the baby. Once the first trimester is over, it is safe to announce the news since the most vulnerable time for the pregnancy is over. Wannabeknowitall Jun 19th, 2006, 08:52 PM It's probably the back and I'm a bit worried. I won't get really worried until the US Open and she's still not playing. It seems like the best thing for me. I can focus on another American named Davenport who happens to be in London during the Championships, N'dea Davenport. You just do your thing girl and the albums will sell themselves. She says it's her shoulder. Former champion Davenport withdraws from Wimbledon LONDON (Reuters) - Former champion Lindsay Davenport withdrew on Monday from the Wimbledon championships. The American, who also finished runner-up to Venus Williams last year, has been out of action since March with a shoulder problem and has failed to recover in time for the grasscourt grand slam which begins next Monday. Davenport joins Venus's younger sister Serena, winner in 2002 and 2003, among the notable absentees. Serena has a knee injury. Spain's Carlos Moya, Guillermo Coria of Argentina and big-serving American Taylor Dent have also been sidelined. Helen Lawson Jun 19th, 2006, 09:04 PM Let's face it, pregnancy or no pregnancy, good start to year, bad start to year, this was Lin-See's last year no matter what. For her to miss WB in her last year, this would have to be like the worst injury known to man, she's played there before very injured (2000). In her last year, Lin-See would be doing cortizone shots, pain killers, you name it, nothing would keep her from WB. That's why I think she's pregnant and waiting until she's far enough along to announce it. MH0861 Jun 19th, 2006, 09:31 PM Yeah, because I don't remember her complaining of a shoulder injury before. I honestly think that article just made a mistake. They said she's been out since March with a "shoulder problem", but she used her back as the reason why she pulled out of Miami, Amelia Island, RG, etc. Wannabeknowitall Jun 19th, 2006, 10:01 PM She says it's her shoulder. Spain's Carlos Moya, Guillermo Coria of Argentina and big-serving American Taylor Dent have also been sidelined. Davenport Withdraws From Wimbledon AP Sports WIMBLEDON, England (June 19) - Former champion Lindsay Davenport pulled out of Wimbledon on Monday with a bad back. The 30-year-old American, ranked No. 6, also missed the French Open with the injury. She hasn't played since aggravating her back in mid-March at the Pacific Life Open. Davenport won Wimbledon in 1999 and reached the final in 2000. Serena Williams has already pulled out of Wimbledon due to her ongoing knee problems. Also out of the grass-court championship starting next Monday is Taylor Dent, who has a back injury. He missed the French Open. Former French Open champion and former No. 1 Carlos Moya (shoulder) and Jose Acasuso of Argentina, who has an undisclosed injury, also pulled out Monday, Wimbledon officials said. I guess we could argue which source is likely accurate. Then again Lindsay didn't miss Miami or Amelia Island because of a shoulder. Anyway go N'dea Davenport since it was kinda ignored last time. fnuf7 Jun 19th, 2006, 10:08 PM Doubt it, but I wouldn't mind if she did have a bun in the oven, she'd make a nice mum methinks :) Of course I definitely want to see her playing some more tennis sometime this year too! :D Farina Elia Fan Jun 19th, 2006, 10:13 PM Silvia Farina Elia's gossip is good enough for me :) tennnisfannn Jun 19th, 2006, 11:52 PM Sounds to me like the same person who got serena pregnant last year just got Lindsay pregnant too! bw2082 Jun 19th, 2006, 11:57 PM Sounds to me like the same person who got serena pregnant last year just got Lindsay pregnant too! and Sesil :tape: catkey94 Jun 20th, 2006, 12:02 AM and Sesil :tape: and Hantuchova ;) Steffica Greles Jun 20th, 2006, 12:03 AM It's an interesting rumour that would seem to be plausible, given her age, her married status and intent to retire within the next year. But I voted "no" because I fail to see why she'd lie about it. lynch79 Jun 20th, 2006, 02:34 AM Silvia Farina Elia's gossip is good enough for me :) Ditto. Silvia can't be wrong. Greenout Jun 20th, 2006, 03:05 AM I hope LD's is pregnant. This is wonderful news, and surely better than having a back problem. Happy news.. actually. :) Denise4925 Jun 20th, 2006, 03:27 AM It's an interesting rumour that would seem to be plausible, given her age, her married status and intent to retire within the next year.
