That's ok ;) she doesn't feel very home at grass, she needs to play more there for experience, for improving.
But she will do better at Wimbledon. :)

a vet... Dechy is not that old, is she? 27?
Anyway... I'm delighted Dechy wins again, after all the mean words I could read about her on this board a few months ago...

A great win for a very capable/underrated player. Well done!

Than you, thelittlestelf

you find the good word to describe Nathalie - underrated

ok she is not a potential top 5 player, but she's been number 11 in the world and made a semifinal in AO 2005, pushing Lindsay to three sets.

Nathalie is a really classic player, she's not that powerful, she has no amazing shots, she is not the queen of the net ;) and she is not a 6.2 feet blonde babe, but when she is on she can play really solid tennis.

She's had good wins throughout her carreer, but she obviously has to face the competition with Amelie and Mary to be the Favorite player for the French people.

I'm really looking forward for her match against Amélie, hope it gives her confidence for Wimbledon, even though i predict Amélie in three sets......

Today, the victory against young newcomer Shahar Peer seems to definitely make an end to the awful slump (before french open...) she's had since the beginning of the year

Allez Nathalie

Sort of expected, Dechy is really good on grass where as Shahar is much better on the slower surfaces where he counter punching game is at its best.

Not to be picky but it's Peer...I didn't know who Nat beat until I read the whole thread. Anyway, Dechy has some great results when she stays agressive and I hope she is starting to play that way again, Great win Nathalie :bounce: , Better luck next time Shahar :)

Too bad these two had to play against each other, because I like them both. :awww:
But I don't worry for Shahar, she has a great potential and is still young :D
I'm very happy for Nathalie, she seems to play much better these 2-3 tournaments :yeah: Too bad she has to face Amélie in the second round

And I think her RG run might help her confidence a little. She almost beat Dani. Congrats Nathy :yeah:
