or

2) Never seen her play.

Since this is coming from a Sharapova addict, where power is seemingly all what matters, I can't use "all the variety" as a term for interesting or "volleys, spins and angles" as weapons because you don't recognize them as such - all what matters is the speed clocked on the hits.

If you ask me, Sharapova plays the most boring tennis ever. Because I really hate to see matches dominated by power. And yeah, I know you won't understand.

Power = Slams and YEC.

And the last time I checked, Kirilenkoverrated was slamless and was only able to win 7 games off Suarez, while Queen Sharapova won a total of 8 games in her loss to Jackson, which means even when she sucks, she kicks Kirilenkoverrated's ass.

Yes of course she is capable of winning Slams and she has before, but where you're wrong is saying that a power game automatically produces Slams. Maria S is talented, possesses unbeatable fire and has more than just a power game.

Unless a serious injury happens, I doubt that'll happen.

A girl that wins USO junior aged 14/15, gets on Top 100 aged 16 and gets on the Top 20 aged 19 is bound to be around #500 aged 21 because "she's just spin and volleys".

:rolleyes: At the moment Kirilenko does not have weapons but she is still a good player. Losing one match doesn't mean she is overated. She has a solid game. Her lack of power is a weakness but she can get stronger. I hate people who are quick to diss after one loss and completely forget her good wins which outnumber her bad loses. This doesn't only apply for Kirilenko but everyone. The Williams sisters lose a match and there is 10 billion threads on how they are no longer a force in womens tennis. Lets not forget Paola has been ranked in the top 10 and she also is not a powerful player. She made semis of roland garros. Something I think Kirilienko will do in the future.

Erm, yes :)

There's a reason Paola is streets ahead of Maria in terms of results.

Maria is a good player, but unless she starts constructing her game into a total Hingis style, if she doesn't, she isn't going to make it.

And that Beijing tournament was flukey.

Are you sure? I think she did the Top 100 after the famous RG2004, even though she didn't stay there for long (injuries until the end of the year dropped her to about 130 before 2005 started)
