Helena (41 yo) will play with brother Cyril Suk (39) :worship:

they won the title in 1996 and 1997 :D

Cyril results are still excellent on the atp level and Helena is still in good shape, hope they can do well

go Helena and Cyril!!

Well some amazing things have happened at Wimbledon in the last couple of years. Whose to say this story couldn't be one of them.

Unnecessary. They will never let some young players earn money.

I always liked Helena but I have to admit that I am also not sure whether this move is smart and necessary... :) Anyway, good luck!

she misses tennis. i guess there really should be seniors events even for the womens. or at least during grandslam. give others a chance to shine.

if they had a senior tour for the women i would be more interested in that than the wta tour. steffi, monica, novotna, conchita, ASV, sabatini....

She was an ex-grand slam finalist. :)

Maybe the ladies should start a seniors tour, simular like that of the men.
There could the tennishungry oldtimers (Navratilova, Sukova, Schultz-McCarthy, etc.) play in competition.

More importantly, she won something like 9 grand slam doubles titles and 5 in mixed. Over 70 doubles titles.

Me too. It would be way more interesting. Although I can't imagine millonairesses such as Graf grinding away for the pleasure of earnng $10,000 or something.

I think Navratilova may actually have had something to do with Helena's comeback. The two of them hit together a couple of times when Nav played in Prague a few weeks ago. Perhaps she mentioned that her game was still good enough for the tour.

I think you re right.
+ Martina always said it s easier for her to come back in doubles because she doesn t have the whole court for her. Helena has been one of the best on grass and in doubles so I think that on grass with a super partner as her brother, they should make something great, maybe a quarter final, obviously it will depend of the draw, hope they won t play against Bryan/Navratilova or Likhovtseva/Nestor in the 1st round, because they won t be seeded

Great - I really enjoyed watching those 2 play and win the mixed title. Good on her for giving it another go.
