Probably the fact that Vera says she's a good fighter, but then says she needs luck to make it past the qualies.

Vera and Meilen are quite close :p
they trained a few times together all week, well they share the same coach
and he was just sitting watching this match from top row .....well not watching...... he was reading a mag all match, feet up in air.
normally he's on front-row, pen and book in hand.

Concerning Meilen Tu...
"She is a fighter, and I'm sure she will get luck on her side when she plays in the qualifiers for Wimbledon next week."
I dunno why that makes me laugh.. :o

English isn't her 1st language, I don't think she meant 'luck' as in the classic definition, she was being complimentary of Tu, not bitchy>P

Let's try putting Vera's quote in its context:
"Tu is an unbelievable player, and I was very lucky to escape in the second set, but I think she got tired after playing six games here.
"She is a fighter, and I'm sure she will get luck on her side when she plays in the qualifiers for Wimbledon next week." She is no more being bitchy than when you tell a player 'Good luck!"
No point in trying to stretch a meaning out of something that isn't there.

I'm sure Vera wasn't being bitchy. I saw her and Meilen in each other's company quite a lot in the grounds of Roland Garros this year, and of course they have played some doubles together this year.
