Jamea just had the biggest win of her life, while Vera seems to have found her form yet again and seems to be back on track.

Who will win this battle of the beauty queens? You guess!

Jamea. Vera even at her best has lapses in matches where her form just goes off. If Jamea can play the way he did today she should be able to win. This is a different matchup though. Vera can move just as good as Jamea and actually has the shots in her arsenal to finish off points quickly unlike Jamea who has to wait for an opening. Jamea just has to hope the Vera ship misses the target.

oh really? vera at her very best is a rare and delicate feature - but when it's on, she is golden.
vera's match in 2004 against Jcap in phily was a match that would determine the final spot for the year end championships - vera almost lost against bammer in the first round, just barely scraping out the third set tie-breaker, then she had difficulties against dechy, only to crush the american, then ranked 9th in the world 6-0 6-1. she was brilliant. she was perfect. she was a goddes, untouchable, unpeckable. she did whatever she wanted on court.
no lapse there, whatsoever.
she has had enough crushing matches in her career against well-acomplished players, and when she is at her best, she's a match to anyne out there.

brilliantly said Shonami_Slam. :worship:

I think, however, Jackson 6-4 6-3.

Everyone thought she was regaining form in Auckland where she made the finals, only to lose to Bartoli 2 & 2.

It's all in Bepa's hands. If she can keep her head on, she can win in straight sets. If she has any of her on court "issues", she'll lose in three.

Sweetie. I WAS THERE. Jennifer hates indoors. She looked fat in some black outfit she was wearing and people could tell from the start that something was wrong with Jenny. It was like she really didn't want to be there. It was actually a little depressing. I might have witnessed Jennifer's last tour match.
Vera wanted that YEC spot badly. Jennifer just wanted to see her girl Majoli off in the stands at the YEC it seemed. I have never seen Jennifer play a worse match in her career. Vera played a good tourni from that match on. Even in that match I still felt that if Jennifer could get a couple of games that things could have switched around. There were no laspes in that match because all Vera had to do was stand on the court and just let Jennifer implode.

I haven't got a clue. As far as I can see either player could win 6-1 6-1 or either player could win 7-6 in the 3rd set tiebreak and I wouldn't be surprised. Both players clearly have alot of talent and have been playing very well this tournament. But neither of them have had enough success this year that we can just assume they will play great tennis.

One player is American. One's not.
One player is Black. One's not.
One player no tour victories. The other has three.

Oh God, I HOPE Jamea Jackson wins tomorrow. The future of USA women's tennis needs a shock in the arm bad.

Jamea has a great shot at her first title. She just beat a solid grass court player on grass while she was being coached. This is no easy feat to do in tennis. Vera is a beatable player.

Jamea's mental toughness is getting better. Vera imho still hasn't gotten help with her meltdowns. I am not totally convinced that Vera will not break down tomorrow. Yet I'm more convinced that Jackson may be ready to win her first title. I think the kiddo can do it!

GO JAMEA! FOR THE USA!

It should be a close final. Bepa impressed me when she played Safina in the first round of Roland Garros and she has turned in some good performances this week. I began taking notice when she beat Chakvetadze. In spite of her reputation of disintegrating mentally, she shows signs of making a distinct improvement. Jamea will be riding a wave of confidence after such an outstanding win against Masha but I have a feeling that Bepa's experience will count if things get tight. I think Bepa will squeak through in three sets...6-4 3-6 7-5.

Poor old Bepa, all thru her career, she has never actually beaten a high profile player, they are usually just on the verge of being carted off to critical care:)
