Arsenal v Baracelona in the European cup final tonight of course...

Its amazing, growing up I actively disliked Arsenal, there were a negative side, always passing back to the goalie, cynical and dull. It reminded the same as recently as the George Graham era.

But with Wenger everything has changed, they play beautiful football, have wonderful players...after my beloved Man City they are now my 2nd fave Premiership team, unthinkable under George Graham!

Henry...he is the best player Ive ever seen...he scores countless goals, creates many more, he is a true artist, inventive, quick, a model player. If Arsenal lose him, the whole English league will be the poorer.

It will be very very hard for Arsenal, but they have a chance, they prefer to play against a flair team like Barcelona, who may allow them to play. Come on Arsenal!

I hope Arsenal win tonight. Henry is, in my opinion, the best footballer of my generation, not just for his skills on the park but also for the way he encourages the younger players and handles the media. Go Arsenal! :rocker:

Difficult, I'm hoping that Barcelona is gonna win, but I also want I nice goodbye from Dennis Bergkamp. So lets make it 3-2 Barcelona

1-0 Eto'o
1-1 Henry
HT
2-1 Ronaldinho
2-2 Bergkamp
FT
3-2 Larsson

Barcelona wins after overtime.

There are 3 things wrong with your statement here!

1) Arsenal are not going to win tonight, i promise

2) Manchester City couldnt play lovely football if they had the lovely football instruction manual memorised by heart.

3) Henry is not one of the best in the world. The only reason he is one of the best in england, is because english teams play a deep defence allowing him more ball movement. Watch him in the world cup where other defences are not deep, and he is as effective as a chocolate kettle

Im sorry, point number two is because im a Manchester United fan so i wanted to have a lil pop at them :)

Don't agree with the last point. With his speed Henry is a constant threat for every defender. Not only if you playing deep. If you have a moving last line, he would use the space behind the last defender. He also has an excellent shot from long distance and every angle. So he is one of the best at the moment yes.

Pff, it's being a red card game i suppose.

He redcarded Lehmann, were he should give a goal instead of a freekick. Maybe a goal and a red card. And than he gave yellow to Eboué, which could have been red.

Well awful is a big word. He was setting up most of the attacks for example the one were Eto'o hit the post.

Ronaldinho wasn't very good at all, and when Ronaldinho doesn't play, Barca are little more than decent.

Take Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Puyol out of Barca, and you have a decent side, but not title winning.

Ronaldinho was poor, Eto'o showed brief glimpses and Puyol was too busy trying to bust Henry's legs, and in the end, Larsson came on and punished a tiring Arsenal team down to 10 men.

Crap final, and the trophy should be shared between the 2 losing semi finalists, who may have given us a game to remember :p

Whaha, you would say Villareal is more than an average team. You didn't name Iniesta he was one of the best in the second half. And Puyol wasn't busting Henry's leg never seen that. The only one that busted someones leg was Eboué.

Henry isn't as effective in Internationals, but who is, and he's the best player in The Premiership

I'd disagree with Tylane with his comment about easier to score in England..........Italy these days have leakier defences than ever before, and in Spain..........I present last seasons leading scorer..........Diego Forlan, who couldn't hit a cows bum with a banjo in England, yet in Spain was scoring goals for fun.

Different leagues suit different players.

English football is alot different to Spanish/Italian. It's faster, more physical and players need to be alot fitter and prepared to work harder.

English football is alot different to Spanish/Italian. It's faster, more physical and players need to be alot fitter and prepared to work harder.

Or you could go to Scotland, where it's even faster, but without the football

It's more physical. But I'm not sure it's faster.

Oh it is alot faster.

I've lost count the amount of times players have been surprised at the pace after coming from abroad.

Watching Spanish and Italian football sends me to sleep at times

We have a lot of huge refs, but they all suck. I think almost half of our games are decided by ref errors.

Well, for instance, Deco wouldn't last in England, he's far too weak.

Ballack for example, who has just joined Chelsea, would be more suited to England than Spain or Italy, because he's physically stronger, but his diving will be stamped out very quick, as it's a no no in England.

Arsenal lost because of a combination...

Missed chances (Henry had 2 great chances)
Big mistake by the keeper
Bad luck
Bad (dodgy?) ref

Henry IS the best player in the world, give me a few names who you think are better...he had poor game tonight, but so did Ronaldhino.

Take a glance at Henry's record in the Champions League, and you'll note it is just as impressive as his Premiership form.

Again Im a Man City fan, not Arsenal, but if you offer me a player right now, anoyne in the world, Ill take Henry thank you very much! ;)

Well they may not complain about the ref. if you follow the rules it was a red card and a goal, a red card to Eboué also and a penalty cause of hands. And the scored a goal out a given freekick.

But agree that Henry is one of the worlds bests.

Ballack will fit in footballing wise, but his ego will be crushed by Mourinho.

We have some Dutchies at Boro, Boateng and Hasselbaink, but both will be gone next season :(

sorry, Ronaldinho is by far a much beter player, and is best in world!
Eto'o is better than Henry at finishing and pace
Van Nistelrooy was much better than him

Rooney is better than him
Saha isnt far off him
Adriano is far better than Henry

Ask everyone if Henry is the best player in the owrld, and 95% will say NO, RONALDINHO IS!

I don't complain much about decisions, but the ref killed and raped what should have been a glorious display of free-flowing attacking football. For 20 minutes we had that.

Even with 10 men and constantly fighting back the tide, we created more chances, until Eto broke through with his offside goal.

The ref was a fucking disgrace. Deserves to be dragged into a pub full of Arsenal fans and have the shit beaten out of him, for blatant partial refereeing.

I'm so proud of the boys. Gutsy in the face of overwhelming pressure and I have no doubt, that 11 vs. 11, we'd have thumped Barca.

The ref is an absolute embarassment and ruined the chance of a classic game which it was shaping up to be. I'm so disappointed for Lehmann and Pires who had to suffer as a result of the red card. But, I cannot be any prouder of the way they fought. Freddie was awesome, as was Hleb & Campbell (who I have completly slated over these last few months) was out best defender, immense. While Henry may not have had the best game, he created more than Ronaldhino who we silenced pretty well on the biggest stage. I'm bitter that we were robbed of the opportunity to perform the way we would like. We were by far the better team before the red card.

Indeed. For me Toure was the best player on the pitch on the night...I lost coutn of the number of clearances he made, attacks he foiled...he has amazing potential.

I just hope, for the good of English football, that Henry chooses to stay. Its a privilige to see him play, something special.

One encourgaing sign...Henry vehemnetly condmened the ref and said he agreed with Mourhino about the link between Barcelona and dodgy refereeing. Surely not the kind of thing he would say if he was about to sign for them? Fingers crossed.

Shevchenko is a striker by trade, Henry is a winger turned striker. Henry's assist record I suspect is somewhat superior to Shevchenko.

Plus the Italian League has forgotten how to bring through defenders these days, it is no longer a good defensive league.

I've only just figured out ( ) that this is the ref that sent off Lehmann and made so many mistakes last night, was the ref who sent off Del Horno v Barca, when Messi was diving around and rolling all over the place.

So the ref has history in Barca games.

The team were pretty much defending the whole match, and Henry had barely any service, being forced to double back constantly. And he was STILL able to create chances.

And yes, Rooney made a huge impression in the England group stages, managing an extraordinary ZERO goals.

that Arsenal goal should have never been cos it was never a free-kick
a blatant dive if ever i saw one, plus the ref could have booked Eboue for that dive, which would have meant Arsenal down to 9 men.

He could have given Barca the goal and then still sent off Lehmann

so he helped Arsenal as well.

still whats a Norweigan doing reffing a CL final when Norweigan football consists of pub players
