...noticed that Jack Gyllenhaal was limping a little bit when he walked. Was that deliberate (as in for the purposes of the character he played in the movie) or does he in fact walk like that in real life?

I still haven't seen the movie, was he the "boy" or the "girl"? I doubt they'd do something like that on purpose without a reference to him being sore or something.

well in the first initmate scene he was the "girl" and in the second he was the "boy".

But even before those "scenes" he was already limping. You might NOT notice at first glance but if you observe him a little, he seems to be limping just a tiny bit!!!

Maybe they're trying to imply he was getting it from another guy before meeting the other cowboy?

Is this an Oscar-winning movie, or a porno?!?!? :o

I mean, you can tell from the scenes who the "boy" is and who the "girl" is, and if they use lube?
Honestly, no wonder it didn't win Best Picture. All the gay sex in Midnight Cowboy was implied, not graphic.

So what's the problem with a little sex?

They did not win as they did not promote safe sex...you can see the scene that they did not have condom and lube...jake loves Bareback....thats the first time he lost his virginity to Ledger.....

Allright can get into that, but still think that isn't an import issue by discussion the goodness of a movie.

Hon, I think if you can tell whether they're using lube or not, it's too much sex in a non-porno movie. I mean, I'm all for sex, but in a porno movie, not something mainstream.

Anyway, my grandchildren are coming over this weekend, and I was trying to decide whether to watch Brokeback Mountain, or the movie version of Annie with Aileen Quinn and Carol Burnett. I guess it's Annie. Again. I swear, all this smut and garbage on the screen today, it's tough to keep it clean!

Then that's definitely Hollywood if he was a virgin and didn't require lube of any sort..sorry..doesn't work that way. :tape:

Well, didn't it take place in the 1960s? That was pre-AIDS, where the worse that could happen is you'd have to take some antibiotics.

Hell safe sex is overrated anyways. If you get it, you don't have to worry about gettin' it anymore.

It was quite funny the part when they 'do it' it was so random.

I did quite like the film it is so depressing and sad though.

Didn't someone say in the 2nd scence Jake is the 'boy'. What 2nd scene?

In the short story the character ins't that handsome. Proloux herself tought Heath was the perfect Ennis, but Jack Twist wasn't that cute and he walked in a particular way.

An what second scene are u guys talking about. Do u mean in the motel ?
