I support neither Liverpool or West Ham, so as an impartial observer of the game, can I just say, what an AWESOME match!! Great advert for British football, lovely clean flowing game and a great advert for English football so close to the World Cup :D

Congrats to Liverpool and commiserations to West Ham, someone had to win in the end, but everyone should feel inspired from today's game.

all the drama and sweaty palms and jumping out of my seat and switching off the tv with 5 mins to go only to find out there's extra time since it's 3-3 was all worth it. :D

What on Earth were you thinking? :p

Anyway, West Ham should have won the cup, if not for Stevie "Never Give Up" Gerrard 2 thunderous strikes (holy cow, the 2nd was fricking brilliant :worship:). But West Ham, you made your fans and Alan Pardew proud... I salute you :clap2:

As for Liverpool, congrats guys for winning the FA Cup. As an MU fan, I were hoping for West Ham to win ;)... but then you create your own destiny (Stevie G, you're one hell of a player :yeah:).

At least both MU and Liverpool can now brag that it a "successful" year . Now, let us pray the Arsenal does not win the Champions League, or else the fans here will RUB THAT TROPHY onto our faces... we do not want the "pretenders" to win it, don't we? ;)

Yeah, what a shame I let down Man Utd. in 1997 ( A Man Utd in their excellent times ) for a club which only was a subtopper in England and won time by time a FA Cup : I shouldn't have done this :tape: I've never ever had strong feelings for Man Utd as I have for Chelsea since 9 years... The time where Chelsea was beaten in the UEFA Cup by nobodies like Viking Stavenger for example... But yeah, I'm a glory hunter

Liverpool :worship: . Great fightback by us, great goal by Cisse, Crouchy's never should have been ruled out. Stevie.G 's second goal i think was perhaps the best goal ive ever seen, the guy could hardly stand up before that, shame for Alonso and Harry (again harry could not be more unlucky) to have to go off, Great save in e.t by Pepe, and great penalty save from Zamora ,Pepe :bounce: , what on earth was Sami taking a penalty for  . We deserved to win, and we're going to win the title next year.

I hope to see my team Wolves in an FA Cup final one day!, although I was there to see them at the Millenium Stadium when Wolves won the Playoff Final few years back. It has to be one of the greatest days of my life as I've had a Wolves Season Ticket for the last 19 years and its the only bit of success we have seen!.

I felt so sorry for West ham, as I think they were the better team...but I knew that Gerrard would score in injury time. I said to my Mum at 90mins, Gerrard will score. It's just what Liverpool do ;)

And erm..what exactly did Man U win this season? If Arsenal win the CL, its because they are fucking great and deserve it. They are fucking great anyway, but the CL would only put a sealer on that fact. (At least we knocked out the team that sent Man U to the bottom of their CL group. :tape: )

Great match yesterday by both teams. In the end, Stevie G was the difference between them. :yeah:

I was actually thinking we lost through fair play because Scaloni kicked it out when Cisse was down then they passed it to our defender from the throw in and put him under pressure resulting to pass to gerrard and which led to the goal, if they would have thrown it out for a goal kick or to the keeper it wouldnt have happened and West Ham would be FA Cup winners. But no excuses and in my heart we won that game and we have done superbly well this season considering everyone expected us to go down but now look at us seconds away from winning the greatest cup final, in europe and finished 9th and it was an amazing day out.

furrykitten
May 14th, 2006, 01:09 PM
You could argue that Scaloni should have hammered the ball 60 yards up the pitch though instead of barely to the half way line, it was just fate that Gerrard got the goal.

Thats the point it would have been difficult for him because he was under pressure from the liverpool players

Yeah you may be right but if West ham were in the same position I bet you'd want them to press say, Finnan., I know I would if it were Wolves. Football is a harsh game, luck just doesn't fall for those that deserve it, I think West Ham deserved to win it also.

I just typed this inthe other thread so I'll copy and paste:

A big well done to Liverpool, especiall tha man Gerrard, and Riena I guess. We proved or doubters wrong; everyone knows that was a game we could have won.

To be honest, I think we deserved that win, but that's realy taking away from Liverpool's effort. Maybe we both deserved to win, but I'm bitterly bitterly dissapointed. The team were incredible, and showed they can beat teams as good as the european champions! Such a shame they didn't in the end. On their day West Ham play brilliant football and they deserved more than this.

Pardew and Teddy were both inspirational. After 90 minutes everyone gathered round Teddy and he must have given them some really powerful words because we played out of our skins.

Both teams had players strugling with cramp. Poor Marlon could hardly walk at times. It's a shocking sad way to go.

I have no complaints about the ref. He was generally pretty good I thought, there are always a few blips but this match had less than usual.

I also cannot believe Liverpool won it, but they did so fair and square. We deserved the win; we were the better team. Just a few majical moments (Gerrard's goals, Rise's saves) won them the game. But let's not sink low and blame the ref. We come away from Cardiff with our heads held high. :worship:
