You should call animal control. They'll come out there and remove the animal free of charge. However, no telling how long it will take. They took at least a full 24 hours to arrive when this happened to me.

no can do....animal control won't crawl under houses because the risk of damages. :shout:

I arranged a private company to come tomorrow but my mom asked a cousin of ours to do it. He said he would so I canceled the appointment. I told my mom if he doesn't come I'm going to be pissed and if I'm in a foul mood every one around me gets to experience it full blast. :o

Well, where I am from, you have to sign a waiver that says if any damages occur, the animal control company is not responsible. I have no idea if this applies in North Carolina, if that's where you're from.

The smell should go away by itself in a few weeks. In the mean time, mix yourself a stiff drink, consume and repeat until the smell no longer bothers you. Trust me, these matters are best left in the hands of a trained sociologist.

Litter box smell? I have a solution for you on that. Works GREAT for me, plus you only need to take it out about every 2 weeks (with one cat). when it's full.

It's called a LitterLocker and it's a plastic tub that you scoop the litter into. It has a sealed lid to keep the odors inside. And inside the tub is a long plastic bag that you roll around a wheel as you add more dirty litter. When the bag is full, you remove that part, and take it to the trash. Search on Amazon, or they have it at Petsmart.

Oh very easy. My foundation is quite high on one end and the stray cats scratched at and finaly tore down the door since it was wood. Plus when we moved into the house in '87 we inherited stray cats....we've had countless over the years the more tame ones we get fixed and get them shots.

Here some pics of the strays

http://home.ec.rr.com/rocketta/strays_eat.jpg

the grey one and the orange and white one are still around. The grey one is like 7 and the orange one is like 5 or 6.

http://home.ec.rr.com/rocketta/strays_greet.jpg

I tried to trap the stripped one with the orange in her but she kicked my ass. I had to get a tetnus shot and worry about dang rabies when I was trying to trap her to get her fixed and a rabies shot. :(

The dominate male died last year he had to be around 8 but he never let us touch him or get close to him but he would be out there waiting for his food. We called him cockeye. :retard:

my mother does the litter box duty as I pay her to do that but she would love that to keep it near the litterbox. We have 3 inside cats and 3 litter boxes. We mix the crystals in with the clumping type.

naw, I can't stand sick malnourished cats and I know we will have strays around because my cats like to go on the screened in porch and sit. They attract other cats. They're fed so regularly they let any stray come up and help themselves. We usually get a pregnant stray every now and again who comes to eat and pray they don't stay to have their kittens. :scared:

oh and I'm not the only one who feeds them but I'm the only who takes the more tame ones to get fixed. both neighbors on either side through food out and there are apartments behind my house and some of the older residents feed them too. Their coats look nice cause they get Friskies....I can't get myself to buy the cheap stuff. :o

aww lol ok then ...but still ... I am a big cat fan and I just hate it when you see strays on the street, and some I see are extremely skinny but where I live, you CANNOT go near them, guarenteed illness of some kind. At least these ones get fed. And it is good you take the tamer ones to get fixed up. Yeh, Friskies is good ;)

Lord Nelson, no I've never met him.

Thalle & Chipmunk - See those steps I'm standing on... that's how high up my foundation is. There is a decent sized opening that has a wood door but the cats tore it down... When we moved in there was no door at all just a big opening. where the problem comes in is part of my house is an addition so the foundation under the addition is very low to the ground because I guess the land sloped up and the cat is located behind some bricks and the vent that carries and heat and Air conditioning to the addition part of the house. :(

so true besides I'm too grossed out to see the humor....:o Well not really. We had a family reunion meeting tonignt and my mother looked at me and said she was ready to go and I was like, 'I'm not' and she was like 'go to your room the smell isn't bad back there. Oh you want to sit in the front room cause that's where the cable box is. Can't go without it for one day?" I'm like I'm going without it now but if I have to go without it I prefer it to be in a non dead animal stink house while I'm going without. We laughed and then I cut my Aunt's direct tv on. :o

Rocketta, you make me miss my Kitty. I had a stray come to my door not too long after she was born. She practically dragged herself across the street. Her mother or something must have broken her leg after she was born and I found her at the edge of my yard, picked her up, taped a splint (Popsicle stick) around her leg, gave her some milk and she limped underneath the ramp. I kept feeding her and taking care of her until her leg healed, but she never went away. She was healthy and happy and I decided to get her spade. I took her to the Vet, got her spade. She tried to bite the stitches out and I put that collar around her neck. I felt sorry for her with that collar because she couldn't bathe herself and she looked absolutely miserable. Well, to make a long story short, I couldn't keep her in the house any longer because I was getting sick with allergies. Not knowing anything about cats (I had always owned dogs), I put her out with that collar. I went to bed and woke up the next morning to find her dead in the alley. A dog had killed her because she couldn't run and hide with the collar on. I miss her so much. I was her favorite person and she was such a timid and gentle kitty. We just bonded. I was so hurt, because I felt like she was my baby that I had just left defenseless. I'll never forgive myself for it. I loved her so much and I miss her. It was a careless mistake. I couldn't ever bring myself to get another cat to replace her. I felt I would never find another with her personality and temperment. It was 7 years ago, but I'm still heartbroken about it.

Maybe another cat will adopt you?

We had one stray that we had fixed that we let stay in the house overnight and after that he felt he was to come in the house every day. We called him Buster and he was real handsome. One day he disappeared and I went to the pound everyday to find him but no luck....I don't know what happened to him. :(

In 1999, there was a dead cat in front of my house. His head was stuck in the drain pipe so my dad brought out a recycle bin and a shovel. He shovelled this dead cat and put it into the bin. How nasty!! :fiery: :fiery:

that is nasty. :tape:

When we were young we got this dog and he died in the yard. My mother and my older sister had to put it in a plastic bag and then they buried it. :scared:

I planted a pine tree on top of the mound and called her Mary. I use to talk to Mary every day and play around her.....That became the biggest tree around....I could see it like half a mile a way...They had to cut it down though because I planted it in an inopportune place and it was interferring with the power lines. :(

Thanks Edward and Rocketta  I keep hoping another kitty does adopt me Rocketta, but it's been seven years. I think God sent me that Kitty for some unknown reason. She sure was precious to me.
