Clay is by faaaar Alicia's worst surface :scared:

I think Alicia - she can perform well on clay (Sarasota 03 final; Budapest final 03 etc.) and there isn't much competetion.

I dont think Alicia will win, she lost to Casey a lot lately, including in Fed Cup practice and on grass, so she should do even worse on clay.
I think it will be Ferguson, as shes getting a lot of clay matches in Europe now. Pratty has a chance too.

Are these all going to play?

Casey def Alicia twice in the last three weeks. Alicia is gaining ground fast but is still a long way from her best.

Clay though is the surface that will exploit rustiness more than any other surface and Alicia's consistency and ability to stay in long rallies without making an unforced error isnt as good right now as the other three players.

Where Alicia wins over the other three is her serve, if she can get a high percentage in and keep holding serve then she's a chance, otherwise Dellacqua and Pratt should get passed her, depending who plays who!

BTW It would be wiser for Molik to skip the clay season altogether and just prepare for grass.

Can Alicia play?

Is it just between these four players? Alicia would probably be better off training for the grass court season. Lauren Breadmore is pretty decent on very slow surfaces so maybe should have been given a chance to play.

Ferguson. What was the score when Casey beat Alicia in Fed Cup practice?

Wasn't Alicia out long enough for a special ranking/entry?

I wouldn't be suprised if Pratt won the WC

I bet bloody Pratt will win it *sigh*...whose playing the "play offs"...

Is there a draw or something?

Why does Alicia have to play play oiffs? Surely she gets injury ranking or SOMETHING?

I'd say Dellacqua. And she doesn't look as *big* as that picture makes her out. I think I remember seeing her against Lindsay in Australia on TV and she looked to be in decent shape.

I hope Alicia takes it, but I'm apalled at Casey in that pic, hopefully she's in far better shape if she intends to win the WC and make something out of it.

If Molik was on form she would definitely beat these other 3 out but since she probably isn't I took a total guess and went with Ferguson. I hope Molik wins though.

I have to say that Sophie Ferguson will win it because this surface really favours her, great records in 2006 on clay is 16-5. Casey Dellacqua have absolutely no chances on this surface as also she hate this surface. Alicia has already lost to Casey which is unfortunate so its a bit tricky for me that i think she won't win it at all. I have absolutely no idea about Nicole Pratt on Clay.

i rekon that it will be between alica(if shes playing her best tennis) and casey. casey just seems to have the game for clay. i may be wrong tho

Casey used to be fat, but she slimmed down a bit recently, so she would have looked ok at this years AO.
