View Full Version : If Hingis wins tomorrows QF, she will re-enter the Top20

She has to beat Mauresmo first though.

Currently she has 820 points in TheBoiledEgg's WTA Updated Ranks

and is ranked #21. A win tomorrow will give her 60 more points and earn a ranking of at least #19.

Do you think she can do it?

Isn't she due to play Amélie in the quarter - if so then NO!

May 11th, 2006, 12:37 PM
She will. No doubt!

May 11th, 2006, 12:38 PM
I doubt she can beat Amélie at this point, but she can always surprise us. Good luck in the QF, Martina. She's been duo a proper ranking of at least TOP20 for a long time now.

Will she play Rome?

May 11th, 2006, 12:39 PM
That will be tough. It depends on which Momo shows up. Good Luck Martina

She's scheduled to play Rome - her draws can only get better at this point!

really hope so!! I think she knows how important a top 16 seeding at RG would be!!!!

Go Martina!!! Keep on going and get back to the Top 10!!!

Surprise us, Martina! You can do it! :bounce:

May 11th, 2006, 01:35 PM
hope so

So what is their h2h on red clay?

I'm not sure, but I think it quite close... Martina won in FO 1999, but Mauresmo won their last 2, in Berlin 2001 and Roma 2001... all matches were close;)!

May 11th, 2006, 02:12 PM
I think top 16 is very difficult rigth now

May 11th, 2006, 02:19 PM
Martina can definetely surprise everyone however I think Amelie is one of the top players who will be least intimidated/effected by Martina's style of play. The draw is really top-heavy. The winner will most likely face Justine which won't be easy.

I think Martina can do it. They are both great clay court players but this is clay and the match can go either way for both of them. Congrats to whoever wins this match and I hope they take out Henin. I wouldn't mind a rematch of the Aussie Open final either.

Not many people expected Martina to beat Elena D., yet she surprised us all with a straight sets win over her. Martina's capable of surprises, mostly because I suspect she isn't a "top player" at the moment and doesn't have as much pressure to deliver results.

Go Martina!

It's just a question of time anyway!!

By the by Hingis is already a top 20 player. If we were going by last years rankings she would probably be in the top 12 by now.

I look for a great match between these two. U GO GIRLS!
