If they will be seeded 3rd and 4th in the Slams then it will mean that Sharapova won't have those easy quarterfinals anymore. (Not easy in terms of score but Petrova always finds a way to choke againest Shrapova)

2005 WIMBLEDON GRASS (O) Q M. SHARAPOVA 7-6(6) 6-3
2005 US OPEN HARD (O) Q M. SHARAPOVA 7-5 4-6 6-4
2006 AUSTRALIAN OPEN HARD (O) Q M. SHARAPOVA 7-6(6) 6-4

Yeah Petrova will just be beaten by someone else in Quarter finals instead. Maybe except RG

Probably better for Nadia isnt it :p
..and we (Maria/Nadia fans) can see a different GS QF for the 1st time in a year ;)

IMO Maria won't be too happy if Miss Petrova becomes Russian no.1

Finally :D Although i always felt a bit on comfort knowing Masha would play Nadia in the quarters, but hey its time for a change.

Yeah but I'm sure Maria prefers to play Nadia in the quarters instead of a Lindsay, Justine, Mary etc.

Hopefully Sharapova's draw is more brutal than it has been in the past! :fiery:

:haha:...Exactly...but this is actually good news imo. No more ugly matches! :bounce: The AO one was horrible...:o Give me something more exciting to watch. Love her matches with Martina. That's a QF I wouldn't mind. It's not like beating Petrova got her to a final or a slam title anyway. So no bad news here. If you are good enough, you'll beat everyone in your way.

petrova is a much better player now then when she played sharapova last, and she's undefeted on clay so far this year

Sharapova won the Wimbledon quarterfinal, but Petrova choked at the USO and the Aussie quarterfinals.

How nice. Now Maria can beat up on her in the semis! Thanks! :bounce: :bounce:

Seriously, its not going to matter in the big scheme of things. No one in the WTA looks forward to playing Maria, grand slam quarterfinals or not.

No Maria will have to beat up Amélie or Kim in semi's and given her past record against them, they may look forward to it!

I think Nadia can live up to her seeding at RG. Unless she draws Henin in the QF.

JHH has beaten Nadia all over the map. It's time for payback. I would like to see them play in the QF's at RG.

Well Maria is just going to have to beat her in the Semi's :bounce:

God i hope that Maria does not lose her #1 Russian position to her, Maria is way better then her :fiery: Maria you need to play more tournments, 28 just like Nadia

LOL, how ironic that they probably won't meet in the quarters at the one slam where Nadia would have a huge chance to beat Maria.

Well it TOOK A LONG TIME FOR NADIA TO CLIMB up the RANKINGS & PLAYING SOO SOO SOO MANY TOURNAMENTS will do it FOR HER:lol:

if maria's seeded 3 and nadia 4, they can't meet until the finals :retard:

It wouldn't last very long if she did become Russian number 1.

To have Nadia as Number one would be bad news for the WTA indeed ,I wouldnt mind myself ,but Nadias total lack of character or charisma aint gonna be putting bums on seats anytime soon ,sad but true.

Nadia might be Russian #1 at the moment, but please have a look how many tours she competed  26

i am not sure she will be seeded 4th in rg, she might lose today

nadia's better than people in this thread give her credit for. now that shes believing in herself i think shes going to surprise some of the top players. the reason masha is so much better than nadia and doesn't lose to her is because of the differences in confidence and belief. even though i know masha would beat nadia, im glad they wont meet up early because i think she more dangerous than some of the other top 7-12 ranked players.

honestly i wonder if Sharapova can make another QF at RG. she didn't play on clay for once this year. i think clay is kinda surface that you need a lot of practice, especially when you are not good

well let's see what's gonna happen at Rome.

well let's see what's gonna happen at Rome.lindsay played her best french with no warm up tournies. think masha will do well and surprise everyone. with a decent draw she might improve on her qf.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't see why it would bother Miss Sharapova - she's American isn't she? ;)

Seriously, when they meet, poor Nadia wont hold onto that ranking! Maria will go on nuclear attack!

The only bad news for Sharapova is that all the other top 10 players are better claycourters than her (maybe except for Lindsay).
