Anci retires of the match because of maybe a strained muscle at her upper leftleg... Left the court in tears.

Heartreaking stuff.
She was playing really well in the first set, kicking Li all over the court... And then the injury. Awful. I hope it was nothing that serious and it can be healed quickly. Roland Garros is just arround the corner. :bigcry:

Feel terrible for Ivanovic, such a lovely young lady. Hopefully she will recover soon and be fully fit for the French Open. :worship:

Na had lots of chances in the first set,
She just missed that so the scoreline was 1:6
anyway, finanlly she can move into the next round, that's cool

at the time she had those chances ana asked for treatment. it does seem that ana did dominate the match up to that point.

Indeed, she played very well 'til her injury came up

Ana

She played so good in the first set,and catched many key points.

Anyway,Na shouldn't get a scoreline like 1-6 against Ana,she should have catched some chances, but she always lost some key points in the 1st set.

That's such a shame
Providing it's only a strain, she should be fit for RG but a tear to the muscle would need much longer to heal.
Does anyone know how she did it and if she have to stop right away or did she carry on playing for a bit?

It happened at 4-1. I think she got injured when she got herself in an awkward position while sliding to a ball. She won the set, but as soon as the 2nd started, it was obvious she wouldn't be able to go on.

Well if it was a tear of her quadriceps or hamstrings (someone mentioned the upper leg) she wouldn't even have been able to weight-bear so the fact that she managed to play another two games is an encouraging sign and should only be a muscle strain which gives her a fair chance of making the French Open :)
