From 1997 onwards.......the main reason for this is that i followed tennis from 1997 onwards and am not too sure of the tiering system from before then. Also, most of today's top players (hingis, dav, pierce, willx2, seles) competed from 1997 onwards aswell.......

Everyone was making such a big deal about tier 1 titles lately, so i was going to post the career tier 1 titles of each player, but i didn't know what tournaments were tier 1 before 1997, so i decided to go from 1997 onwards.....

Heck, if i went from 1999 or 2000 onwards martina still would have been top or near the top, so i wasn't really looking at that as the reason for posting this...i just thought some people would like to know more total stats...

pretty impressive list of Tier 1s for Hingis. Thats what kept her at the top even when she wasn't winning those slams after 1999. 1999 and 2000 are particularly good years for her at those Tier 1s.

I think the statistic would be more telling if you also mentioned how many tier 1 events the players participated in to get their titles.

Taking it one step further, maybe you could rate the field of each tourney. I mean winning a tier 1 like Moscow would not come close to winning Erricson:D

Just a joke!!!

LOL, ok I thought there were way more tier 1 tournaments than this. I guess I've been mistaking some tier 2's my bad.

Mem'ries light the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored mem'ries of the way we were

Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were.

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me, would we, could we

Mem'ries may be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember we simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter we will remember
Whenever we remember the way we were.

The way we were.
