Is this the tournament with a very small field? From a Chinese perspective would it be wise for the entire team who would make the MD out-right to come here? The field would be weaker than at the Pilot Pen in Connecticut....
Another chance at a title here for a Chinese WTA title!

Last year the Chinese girls played at New Haven though

Did they expand the draw this year? Or is it still just the sixteen field? I hate that :o

I think its still a 16-women draw.

Elena Likhovtseva and Lucie Safarova have won here in the past - so there are well known players winning here. It's the easiest tour title to win!

So you must registered to both to be sure?

So if I understand well, if let's say Benesova  enter Forrest Hills only but could have be in New Heaven MD, Tour will refuse her to play in Forrest Hills?

its pretty confusing......
Iveta wont likely get into New Haven anyway, but I guess most players this week enter both, then its down to WTA.
that way the highest ranked players will be in New Haven and the ones that just miss out will be put into Forest Hills.

I don't think so...

Bogotá, Tashkent, Kolkata, Palermo, Rabat...all of them are way weaker overall.

All 16 players in FH will be top 100

Mirza should skip this or go to Forst Hills..she does not want to be playing too much before the Open. She will be one of the two or three favorites to win at Forest Hills if she plays here.

sorry this I meant to Pilot Pen..she has been playing staright for atleast 3 weeks now so Forest Hills is a better option than Pilot Pen for her I feel. Less stress on her body if she goes further please it is close to New York. It will get her in the groove like last year I feel
