Hey all

I get down sometimes & I'm sure this all sounds too melodramatic (excuse spelling sorry) but I don't sometimes I just feel so alone and detached from myself & reality I don't know how to deal with it. I self harm, I write poetry,I do anything i can to stop this feeling. I hide this side of my life from pretty much everyone in my life. I'm nothing. Sometimes the thought of leaving my sister is the only one that keeps me alive.

No more life,
no more pain
noone's loss,
noone's gain.

Of course, this board being, well, THIS board...

I misread the title for 'going down' instead of 'be down'. Sorry... :o

Happens to me sometimes, I don't write poetry and all but there are times I feel like that. But I get over it in like 20 hrs

this mask,
it is not mine,
I see through it,
but it is not mine.

this shell,
it is not mine,
I live in it,
but it is not mine.

this blood,
it is not mine,
I drew it,
but it is not mine.

This life,
it is not mine,
I cannot end it,
'cause it is not mine.

To get back to the matter...

Writing in general, writing poetry mostly, has really helped me through some down and out times. I still have these dark periods. You just have to get through them.

The feeling of being so misplaced where you're at in life at that stage can really break your heart countless times. So many emotions.

you're not alone and you will be alrite. Sometimes we get stuck in a rut and a pit we feel we just can't crawl out of but hang on in there and it will pass.

If poetry helps you, then that's good - we all get down at times.

Fantastic

When you're feeling down, stare at Silk's avatar for a few moment and you'll be cheered right up. I just did and now I'm anything but "down." ;)

LOL. Okay, all laughs aside, I can relate to what you're feeling, smiler. But with a name like that, you could just about cheer everyone else up. That's one thing you could do. Take your mind off your own feelings sometimes and try to make someone else happy. Whoever you choose, they will appreciate it. I find that by focusing on someone else and making them feel happy, you're actually also making yourself feel good about making someone else happy.

Times can be tough and we all react differently to different situations and it can take us all different amounts of time to come through the other end of the tunnel back into the light. This is how you have to see these moments of depression. There is a light at the end of every tunnel. If you're self-harming, it's no longer just a bout of "feeling down" but possibly a serious case of depression. I'm not a doctor but it sounds serious to me. In your own best interest, seek the help of someone you trust or perhaps a medical professional. You don't need to be hurting yourself.

Keep writing your poetry. Keep expressing yourself. If you are feeling things emotionally and you are doing something contructive, you are living. You are focusing on something and taking your mind off the lonely times and the times you are feeling down. You gotta move it or lose it. Last of all, you deserve to be happy! Sometimes people don't feel deserving of the world around them. But the truth is, everyone deserves to be happy and they deserve to be loved.

Good luck to you, smiler (or if you're like me, keep staring at Silk's avatar  ). ;)

Wow thanks for the support everyone! I'm feeling so much better & more positive already today, it's so strange it feels like I was a different person when I made those posts last night.

Sorrry for being a nuisance, thanks again.
