no its not true, i assume you are talking about messenger, And anyways very soon MSN won't exist, the new version is called WLM (windows live messenger) and its still free.

It sounds a lot like those urban legend tales about how email is going to be taxed.

There is no way MSN will charge for instant messaging as long as AOL doesn't.

Well they simply can't I suppose, because it isn't difficult to make such a program, so people easily switch to one of those who is free.

As far as I know, Micro$oft will only be charging for certain premium services, that most people will not be interested in anyway.

Messenger (or Windows Live Messenger as someone pointed out) will still be free, as will Hotmail. I think Hotmail is being renamed to Windows Live Mail.

If they were to do that, then they would make huge losses :p They get more money from advertising now than they would ever get from people paying for the program.

Their just spam emails their about as believable as Queen Mary will come in the night and kill you if you dont forward the email :haha:

I already use Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Mail. I like them... and they're completely free and will stay that way :p
