Yes, nice win indeed for Canada against Sweden :) I'm really surprised Sweden sent their world junior rep to these championships though, instead of Lindholm. Anyone going to be watching the round robin on Curl Tv?

I think Carlsen beat Lindholm to go the Worlds actually!

Sadly I won't watch them as I find it stupid to pay for it  RDS are stupid, they said: well we expected TSN to show it and give us the images. Yeah right

Belmont Lad

I really thought we would get RR coverage since it's in the U.S. If they had to go to Europe for coverage, I could understand TSN not doing it. :( I'm thinking it may have something to do with CBC owning the rights, and their deal which brought coverage on TSN back this year?

¤CharlDa¤

It is written in the newspaper today that they don't show it because the scheduling would be at the same time than the Golf Masters  We don't mind not getting them live, just show them!

Question: Why is there a difference in genders and curling? It seems that they would all have the same ability. I think about this in marksman competition and bowling as well.

I'm really not trying to be a smartass here, but I'm really wondering why there is a difference? I understand why there would be one in tennis and basketball. Why curling, though?

Male curlers can throw BIG weight takeout shots that would give them a serious advantage versus female curlers.

Yup, the weight is a big issue- for example female curlers have to be cautious when they're putting more rocks in the rings, because unlike men, they won't be able to get rid of half the rocks with one powerful shot. As a result, most women have to focus on a touch game, though some can throw it big.

Ok I've had an arguent with a poster from here. It was clear for me that Menard needed to do the double in the last end to get his two, while he was 100% sure he only needed a nose hit and was already second shot. What do you guys think about that?

Menard, Roberge took a time-out to check it out, they both agreed they weren't second, same with the commentators. So who is right? I don't think Menard would have been stupid enough to try that double knowing he was second shot.

Belmont Lad

It was really clear to me that Scotland's stone was outcounting Canada's in the back of the 12 when he went to throw his last shot. I think he played the only shot he had by going for the double.
