(CBS4 News) FAIRFIELD, CT Connecticut authorities have slapped a restraining order on a crazy cat.

According to officials in Fairfield, the extremely anti-social animal has subjected the residents of a quiet suburban cul-de-sac to a feline reign of terror during which it attacked several people and even had a pop at the Avon lady.

Lewis, a black-and-white longhaired cat, has been dubbed the "Terrorist of Sunset Circle".

He would attack from behind and without warning, as two-time victim Janet Kettman explained: "I was walking along the sidewalk when he sprang at me. I never saw it coming, but that's how it often is. He comes at you from behind, springs and wraps himself around your legs, biting and scratching.

"The last time I had three bites and eight scratches and I ended up at the walk-in clinic. The Avon lady was getting out of her car when Lewis attacked her from behind. She ended up going to the hospital," said Kettman.

Eyewitnesses describe the terrifying tabby as looking like Felix the Cat and sporting "six toes on each foot, each with a long claw".

Lewis is now under house arrest, forbidden to leave his home.

The cat's owner, Ruth Cisero, was also arrested on charges of failing to comply with the restraining order and reckless endangerment.

Lewis's incarceration is not the end of the matter. Cisero has applied to the court for "accelerated rehabilitation" for the cat, while the Avon lady filed a lawsuit in Superior Court against Cisero

I hate cats, and this is why.

If my neighbor had a cat like this, I would've poisoned the fucker or shot at it with a bow & arrow.

Had this been a dog, it would've been put down a long time ago.

I have no idea what the fuck you are saying, but I think you're trying to tell me you would kill me. Not gonna happen. I'm just too good.

Animals like this are dangerous. There is obviously something very wrong with an animal that attacks when unprovoked. I don't think "house arrest" is good enough, especially after seeing that interview with the wacko owner.

I read this in the news yesterday, and thought, "that's exactly what my cat does" !?! I didn't know it was strange.

But my cat is an indoor cat so she only does it to ME. She attacks me a lot. Is that not normal? She's the only cat I've ever been around so I thought it was normal.

my cousins are black and they told me that it's common for black people to hate cats and think they're evil. she told me that she and her mom are both terrified of cats and cant even look at them. sounds crazy to me, i love cats, but if one attacks me i'll kick the shit out of it.

Yes, several times a day!! She will crouch down, watch where I go, then jump at my leg and grab it with her claws and bit me.

I usually can sense when she is about to do it and if I stop moving she will usually not do it.

She really likes to do it from under the bed when I'm getting into bed at night. And when I take her down to feed her, if I don't get the food right away but instead, say, do some laundry, she will definitly do it then... like she is mad that I'm not feeding her on "her schedule".

She does do it to other people, now that I think about it. She attacked my brother on Christmas, and my assistant yesterday.

I don't know if she is playing or mean; I just go along with it. But this is not normal for cats?!?!?

I think it's playful; if a cat is ANGRY at you, you'd definately be able to tell. My friends have cats that nip and scratch them, it's nothing abnormal. Unless your cat is trying to eat chunks of your skin and claw out your jugular. :p

anyway, dogs be biting mad people and STILL nothing happens. plus in some place some dog breeds get a free bite where nothing at all can happen to them if they bite (this is even true in nyc... :help: )
plus anyway, its just a little scratch some people is just too sensitive :tape:

cats are harmless. see:

i dont think there has ever been a single case in the entire history of the world where a cat has caused a human harm. :o
