:wavey: Hiya all,

As a die hard Rocka and with Rock Eisteddfod Challenge now becoming a hit internationally...I was wondering if anyone on this board was doing a Rocka this year? I'm involved this year with set/costume design for a school.

Rocka is in Australia, America, UK, South Africa, Germany, Japan, Ireland, New Zealand and Dubai (UAE). I wish they would show the other countries performances on the TV special. I know that Linda (Cheoreographer for like ever there) from St Columbas (4 x National Champs) said that if it took off properly in the States they would kick our arses, wish they'd show them :(

;) Essentially...For Rocka Virgins;) ...it's this....

High Schools produce an 8min production (theme) to recorded music. Before they introduced a 10 thousand budget a few years ago...some schools were spending in excess of 100 thousand on sets and costumes.

Rules are however....Your'e set's have to fit through a standard door-jam, you have 4 mins to set up and 4 mins to remove (deconstruct) sets. Janet Jackson was a guest Judge for the Sydney Event years ago and compared it to Broadway.

Ohhh...the whole aim is giving students a "Drug Free High"...but we are all there to win damn it LOL ;)

As you can see...they can get alot done in 4mins...all students constructing sets etc...no teachers allowed to help etc;)
