LOL. Crash? This movie's a bit, MUCH! Don't you think? I thought it would have been a better film if it was more relatable by making some of the characters more subtle... if the events dealt more with the subconciousness of being "racist" and "prejudice". It would have been more interesting and allowed the viewer to think for her/himself more. Instead the film was just so overt and ostentatious. It was like a spectacle! Just too much

Racism is stupid. It's inefficient. It's irrational. It makes about as much sense as saying, "I will only eat steaks from red angus, not black angus," or, "I will only spin yarn from white wool, not black." Paying attention to the suprficial surface and ignoring the substance is the hallmark of a petty individual, unwilling to commit to reality.

I don't like blood nuts, does that count as racist? Shallow, yes, but racist? I don't like their smell and their dandruff. Don't even get me started on those red freckles on their faces. It gives me the creeps. Even Ronald McDonald makes me want to run the other way. Not a fan of red heads, I'm afraid. Sorry to red heads everywhere. But you guys are the freaks of the human race. You guys can't even go out in the sun without turning bright red like a tomato and burning within 5 seconds of exposure. And the smell! Blergh.

But for many, they need to be “hit over the head” a la “Crash” for things to penetrate. A lot of people are stuck in this ‘I-have-a-black-friend-so-can’t-I-be-racist’ mentality; they are utterly clueless.

;) Racism is a learned condition....when all the 50-90 year olds currently pass on...Racism will lessen. Unless of course those that have been predjucied against decide to keep the whole thing alive.

I was racist as a Primary School kid because it was how I "knew" to behave, not racist in attacking people...more joke telling etc. I've since luckily had the opportunity of life experiences and the "University Of Life" to ensure I have no bias. IMO as always ;)

I thought bigotry was an individual trait, while racism is systemic.

I think a lot of racism and other prejudices for that matter is to do with the fear of the unknown (to that partiular individual). Unfortunately :sad:
