View Full Version : Fiona Apple in Paris April 10 , does someone go ?

*Jool*
Mar 26th, 2006, 09:28 PM
hey :wavey:

I have a dilemma

Fiona Apple will be live in Paris in April 10th, and the ticket costs 37 euros

Not much IMO

The problem is :

- I dont live in Paris, 4 hours of train and about 80 euros for train tickets :banghead:
- I applied for a job and am waiting for an answer- they can call tomorrow, next week, next month, never...
-I'd be alone to go , which is not the biggest problem cause I'm a huge Fiona fan, I love her songs so much...

I'm still hesitating a lot before buying the tickets (if there are still available tickets cause it's soon) I can buy it tomorrow but I don't know what to do

It won't probably help me take a decision, but does anyone plan to go to that concert ? :wavey: What would you do if you were me ?

kudos

Aw lovely Jool.
If it was me, and I REALLY wanted to go and could afford the cost of the tickets....I'd buy tickets, and then work it out. It's better to have the tickets before hand with these things because when they sell out you don't get the chance at all. That's what I think anyway

Thanks for answering

Sure I'd really like to see her but it's a lot of obstacles as you can see...
I wish I lived in Paris , cause the train will cost me a lot more money and I dont have money to "waste" . I m near 0 on my bank account

Yeah  You can always sell the ticket on if you did buy it and decide not to go? I've done that, I've passed a ticket onto a friend. Who paid face value before anyone accuses me of being a ticket tout ;)

Do it! Personally, I think Fiona is worth it because she is the best musician, EVER! And I would go in a split second. About going alone, I think it is just as fun to go to things alone (movies, bars, concerts) as it is to go with someone else. I mean, I love meeting new people and when I am alone, I always make new friends and have a spontaneous unpredictable night. I think your biggest problem is the transportation. But it's Fiona! She's sooo worth it. She's just amazing! When are you going to see her again, performing all the stuff from her new album and her old stuff? You know?! You should go!

GO! I saw her in December and she broke my heart - I really had to hold back the tears. Best show I've ever seen.
She doesn't tour often, so you should definitely jump on this opportunity.

You will regret it.

ok

the decision was taken

I won't go

Definitely can't afford 100 euros of train tickets :banghead:

Thanks for all the great comments, Martijn  DL  :hearts: Barrie, Erika

I went shopping today, and they said in the store selling tickets that they were 130 of them left on the whole territory , so it was today or never , but I really can't afford going , it's a shame, I probably will regret it , but right now I'm "ok" with that

too bad but it won't kill me...

will it? :hysteric:

damn money power and ploutocracy :fiery:

Aww you should have bought them! I don't know maybe you could have asked for an advance on your birthday presents, even Christmas ones! We only live once as someone said before!

Are you sure you can't find cheaper train tickets? I don't pay that much to do Paris-Est - my hole hometown ;)

Anyways, maybe you'll get another chance! :) I'd have come with you! It's okay to be alone, you can meet fans over there! I remember going to some gig when Tori Amos was playing in London, alone and desperate cos i had no ticket and it was sold out and i couldn't enter or buy a ticket from a trout as i was so broke! i should have whored myself out really :D

Check out the gigs in your region, why don't you go to Les Vieilles Charrues Festival or something, isn't it in your area?

I know how it feels to really want to go somewhere, to live forward to it and then ending up not being able to go :fiery: I agree! Plutocracy sucks!

It's so silly, cause I can get to Paris by bus for 25 (OK, depends on the dates, but it's a return ticket) and that is considerably further away than four hours. Can you not look for a bus ticket? You could even go hitchhiking

A friend in Germany tells me that Extroardinary Machine is doing huge sales in Europe right now.

Is that true? She was Grammy nominated but still hasn't reached the sales she did here in the States with her previous releases.
