Cyclone Larry a category 5 storm has killed NO one,a few people need rescuing ,a few are without power,a lot of people are now JOBLESS or have NO income but as Australia has a safety net social security system money is IMMEDIATELY available as is PUBLICLY funded housing. NO one will be left to fend for themselves for 2 weeks,No one will die of thirst or starvation. No foreign citizens will need to call their country on mobile phones to beg to be rescued, no foreign journalists will need to recue their fellow countrymen or locals
No one will critisize the Northern Queenslanders for not getting now non-existant jobs, but unemployment benefits will keep them going till jobs are available in rebuilt businesses.

Its all d*ckface Dubya & the Republinazis fault.

If George & his dumb cronies were in charge of Australia all the Aborigines would have been killed by the hurricane.

No George W. Bush, no Republicans = NO DEATHS.

...For gods sake, its simple people!!!!!!!!

I believe last time a cyclone killed people in Australia was evening of Christmas Eve (Cyclone Tracy) in 1974 at Darwin. So, I don't surprised there's no death in Queensland due their experience with these numberous encounters in Cairns.

Nice of the thread starter to praise the way it was handled by the Aussie authorities etc. :) , but as an Aussie myself I'd rather just breathe a sigh of relief than try to score political points about it. :wavey:
