View Full Version : Rumor: Mauresmo livid, no longer speaks with Henin-Hardenne

LoveFifteen

Peter Bodo wrote this a few days ago. Who knows if it's true, but I would bet that it is accurate.

"Elena Dementieva made the Pacific Life Open semis earlier today, but I don’t have a lot of confidence in her chances against the Little Backhand that Quit, Justine Henin-Hardenne (BTW: my sources tell me that Mauresmo is livid over the Australian affair and isn't even on speaking terms with Henin-Hardenne)."

I wonder if this is true. I know if I were Mauresmo, I would do the same.

Mauresmo has been quiet towards the media. I think that is really classy of her.

But I always thought she was one of JHH's few friends on tour? So if they are no longer on speaking terms, it would be pretty easy for a lot of people to notice. I guess we'll see what happens in the future when the two play each other.

I wonder if Amelie has talked about it with anyone on tour? Can't you just imagine her and Lindsay having a good bitch session about it? Rolling their eyes and shaking their heads!

There is no way that Davenport and Momo ever hang out together, they might be on cordial terms, but they are far from pals. Davenport is a very clique-ish, sorority girl type.

Finally something that makes sense...LOL.

Anyway, Amelie is probably upset, this 'rumor' is more like common sense. Momo is an extremely sensitive person and to believe that it didn't bother here is pretty foolish...I am sure they will make up someday, time heals all wounds, blah, blah, blah

Seeing that MoMo knows Justine as a person (as they are friends on and off the tour) then perhaps MoMo knew that Justine was really sick and wouldn't retire from a GS final unless was really, really sick and has accepted the situation.

MoMo knows Justine better than any of you lot, so I think MoMo is the best judge of this situation and not you, I or the media.

Regarding Bodo, the guy has no credibility in whatever he writes, he always says "my source tells me". He says this so as to take away the responsibility for his own thoughts. No one told him, he is just assuming the situation, but he has to say someone told him, otherwise people would ask for proof etc and he couldn't provide that. When you say "someone told me", it's not making you wrong, it's making the other person wrong if asked for proof.

Example:

"Fan to Bodo: You said that MoMo and Justine were not talking and they are

Bodo: I was only passing on what someone else said ... I never said it in the first place, someone told me they aren't talking, ask them.

Fan to Bodo: Who is it?

Bodo: I can't give out that information, it's private."

Unfortunately, that's what happens in the world!

Exactly - Bodo always does this - "my source tells me". But he never says who they are. He did the same to Kimmie af few weeks back. Anyone who quotes him as a source is either very naive or trying to stir up trouble. Bodo is basically a super troll who gets his kicks from his blog trashing a player and then waiting for a lot of people to take the bait and come in with their comments. It would be best if he was ignored.

as much as I love Amelie Mauresmo, and as happy as I am for her win-- She should known that had either Kim or Justine been even at 75% health---she would have lost in yet another Semi-final or (at best) final. As much as many people have deluded themselves to believe-- Amelie was not "playing championship tennis"-- she was merely waiting for mistakes (as is made clear by the fact that she hit virtually no winners in the 1st set against Justine).

Like I have always contended--- had it been anyone but Amelie that had won in the same way--- the word "deserved" would have NEVER appeared next to this win.

Sorry people-- but the truth hurts.

Sorry but Amelie beat Kim the last 3 times they met and she is capable of beating Justine anytime, this kind of staments pissed me of because try to rest credit to Amelie capabilities, she is a top player, she has been for about 5 or more years. If other players choose to play not 100% health and expect to win the all tournament is arrogant and a lack of respect for the other players

Get a clue, loser. The "truth" (as you so ridiculously frame it) is that Amelie Mauresmo won the Australian Open. Being healthy is part of winning a game, a match, and (yes) a tournament. Clijsters=rolled ankle. Henin=whatever damage she felt was going on. Mauresmo=HEALTHY AND UP TO THE CHALLENGE. Take your "asterik" theories elsewhere.

Justine has said she's sorry Amélie's first GS win had to come like this, and she's congratulated her, she just doesn't regret doing it which I can't blame her if she was in such pain (no one will never know, period).

Amélie seems to be very sensitive and I think she was a bit bothered by the whole thing, but I don't think she's gonna keep things cold between her and Justine. At least I hope not. But at the end of the day if they don't talk to each other anymore, that just happens. Nothing one can do and I'm sure Justine won't care all that much.

But this article stinks as fabricated crap only seeking some controversy. His dislike for the Belgians is pathetic. :retard:

Of course - but it's just hypocritical (imo) to go looking for inside dirt, and then get mad at someone for providing it because the rumor they serve up doesn't work for you. If he'd whispered that Justine had taken Momo out to dinner (or vice versa) as a peace offering, some of the same people calling him an idiot right now would be posting happy smilies by the dozen.

Good point. Chaff is chaff, and should be regarded as such no matter how we feel about it.

But personally, as a n00b, I'm always disappointed that tennis writers occupy themselves mostly with trashy gossip and groundless rumours instead of analysis; I still need that analysis to help me make sense of the game.

Exactly. Plus, we know Mauresmo says to the press she doesn't want to talk about it and to keep her thoughts private. If she thought what Justine did was just fine, she would have said so to the press and that would have ended the matter. But, in this controversy, just like others in the past, she chooses not to comment, and it must mean she has negative feelings.

Well, other than the sporadic few days after the AO finals, not much has been discussed regarding the AO final. Even during Henin-Hardenne's semifinal and final, the ESPN commentators never mentioned any supposed "scandal" regarding the AO because it is a non-issue.

Fact is, the story died months ago. Only a few haters seem to want to use it as a whipping post against Justine. All of which either didn't like Justine before the final, or just hate on players indiscriminately.

Mother_Marjorie
Mar 21st, 2006, 02:41 PM
Exactly.

I'm not a Bodo fan, but why are people pulling a nutty on him?

Probably because he's one of the first sports writers in weeks which has even mentioned the AO final, much less spread a rumor (no source provided by Bozo) that Amelie was in a tizzy over Justine's w/d from the AO final.

He's just stirring shit for the sake of getting people to read his column. Of course, we all know the easiest way to boost TV ratings or paper AD sales is to create a scandal where none exists...

Its typical for News Reporters to hide behind their "sources." However, when a sports writer does it, it just makes him look cowardly and not very credible, especially attempting to spread rumor and innuendo about a situation that appearantly Amelie and Justine want to put behind them.

I'm going to Amelia Island this year. So far, I don't see Amelie on the list, but who knows. Should I just ask her at a practice, "Hey, hon, what's the deal, are you livid with Justine or what?" Too direct? I could even try it in French, you know, soften her up in her native tongue, "Bonjour, ma petite. Quelle est cette chose avec Justine, vous etes livide avec elle, ou non?" The problem being, if she answers too quickly in French, I won't understand and then I won't have the guts to ask her again.

Quelle est cette chose avec Justine, vous etes livide avec elle, ou non?" The problem being, if she answers too quickly in French, I won't understand and then I won't have the guts to ask her again.
don't try that mate,I can see Ame looking at you as if you had a boob sticking out from your forehead
but she'll smile and wink at you :) :)

Then, you ask politely "can you translate it to english???!" So you don't have to ask the same question!!

IF it is true I don't blame her at all, if someone has hurt me in a big way I don't even look at them (let alone speak!) untill I'm ready to hear an apology and forgive, which can be months and months!

The key word here though is in the title - RUMOUR. We'll just have to face the fact we don't know for sure either way. Tis fun speculating though eh?

I'm sure Justine is desolate!! I mean, to lose someone as wonderful as Amelie as a "friend" is just horrible. Justine is losing sleep, I'm sure.

Bodo is a jerk and his "sources" aren't worth the money he pays them.

I'm so glad Justine and Amelie are mature and have put this incident behind them. As someone else said, nobody has mentioned this for WEEKS until Bozo brought it up. What a loser.:tape:

But, it would be nice if they met again at the French . . .
