The rules

The aim of each round is to answer enough questions correctly to reach your € 10.000 limit. The fastest way to reach that target is to create a chain of nine correct answers. Get your question wrong and you lose all the money in that chain. But if you type the word "BANK", before the next question is asked the money in the chain will be saved. However you will have to start a new chain from scratch. Remember that at the end of each round, only money that's been banked can carry over in the next round.

The chain is as follows:

€ 50
€ 100
€ 200
€ 400
€ 1000
€ 2000
€ 3000
€ 5000
€ 10000

The first round will be started with a set of 17 questions. In each following round one question is taken off the total, so you have less time to reach your target.

At the end of the round, each players chooses a player who he or she thinks was the weakest link in that round. Our host Bibi-Anne Robinson will then ask every player to tell her who gets their vote. The player with the most votes is out of the game. In case of a tie, the strongest link gets to break the tie. This will be the player with the most correct answers and the most money banked in that round.

When there are two players left, they play the last round together, worth double the money banked. After that round they compete in a best of 5-shootout. The player with the most questions correct in that round wins the money banked. In case of a tie, a sudden-death tiebreaker is played. If the player gets a question right, and his opponent fails to answer his question, this player immediately wins.

Here's the (weakest) link to play:

James
Mar 19th, 2006, 08:20 AM
I think it will be quicker on MSN. You could maybe use this link for questions:

http://www.funtrivia.com/quiznight.cfm

And I would love to play of course.

It's harder to check if people are looking answers to questions up on Google or whatever.

Maybe AIM works, but I don't know if you have to register.

^bibi^
Mar 19th, 2006, 02:52 PM
First round

Total amount 600€

The maryamator is out with 7 votes against her. She didn't answer correctly her two answers :

'I may have exaggerated a bit when I said that 80 percent of the top 100 women are fat pigs. What I meant to say was 75 percent of the top 100 women are fat pigs.' Which ATP player said this? McEnroe, Krajicek or Ivanisevic

&

In which city will this year YEC be held ?

With one question wrong each, Pla & LDF are the only others to have given wrong answers in that round...

^bibi^
Mar 19th, 2006, 02:56 PM
second round

Total amount 350€ (950€)

Andrew_uk is out with 4 votes aganst him, A philatelist collectng Stamps and not coins, while the Seine flows in paris and not the Danude.. too bad for him, he won't make it further.

Pla misses the singer of "que sera, sera", while SloKid, the eventual winner, fails to give the right number one at the start of 2005, answering Maria Sharapova. Martijn misses the question about Moulin Rouge, while James has troubl findin the mix of Blue and yellow, finally answering green...

^bibi^
Mar 19th, 2006, 02:59 PM
Third round

Total amount 800€, the best one of the game (1750€)

Pla is out, she missed only one question, but this was the only wrong answerof the round. She therefor got 5 votes against her not being aple to name the movie in which you can hear the song 'Hakuna Matata'

pla
Mar 19th, 2006, 03:00 PM
 That kitten song

^bibi^
Mar 19th, 2006, 03:04 PM
Fourth round

Total amount 250€ (2000€)

CooCooCachoo is the one elected by the other members of the team, with 3 votes againts him. He missed a question about Zina Garrison and answered that Maria Sharapova called her father after her victory in Wimbledon, instead of her mother. Hopefully, he saved his honor, answering correctly a question about Mickey Mouse.

Two other errors inn this round. James failing to name the Blast form the Past forum, and SloKid missing a question about the planet Pluto

^bibi^
Mar 19th, 2006, 03:08 PM
Fifth round

Total amount 450€ (2450€)

LDF is out in this fifth round, with 4 votes against him. He missed two questions on the three he had, answering correctly the one about transylvania, but missing Coetzer's best ranking and Chernobyl.

No other wrong answers in this round...

^bibi^
Mar 19th, 2006, 03:11 PM
Sixth round

Total amount 550€ (3000€)

Everybody voted for James in that round, though he answered correctly 2 questiosn out of three. No problems for Mars and Sirius Black, but he missed the one about European/Americain populations.

Experimentee committed the only other error of the round, failing to answer correctly a question about wtaworld's chat threads...

^bibi^
Mar 19th, 2006, 03:20 PM
Seventh round

Total amount 200€ (3200€)

Just before the final, the players seem more nervous, accumulating a total of 5 errors in this round, and earning only 200€, the worse round since the beginning.

With two wrong answers each, Experimentee and Acetennisgrrrl were both facing the exit, but SloKid seemed to think that Acetennisgrrl would be an easier opponant in the final.

The Canada was not Experimentee's friend as she missed two questions about it, one about its capital, the other one about Seles first victory after her stabbing, being the canadian Open.

Acetennisgrrrl's first two errors of the game were about the little house on the praire, and the two countries who said no to the european constitution.

SloKid only made one error in that round, once again missing a question about the planet Pluto...

Eight round & Final

Total amount 3*300€ = 900€ (4100€)

Only two wrong answers in the last round, SloKid missing a question about Brussels, AceTennisgrrrl missing one about the expression" Carpe Diem"

In the final, SloKid is just too good, not failing on any of his question. Acetennisgrrrl only misses her first one, but it's enough for her to lose in the last part of the game...

Would you have missed this question too ? here it is...

Mr Smith has 4 daughters The first called Nana, the second's called Nane the third's called Nani, the fourth's called Nano, what's the name of the fifth ?

Youve got your answer ?

I think we can create a ranking. Each player winning 10% of the amount when he was excluded (example, you were eliminated in the fourth round, there was 2000€ in the bank, so you win 200€), the wnner wins the whole lot of course

€ 50
€ 100
€ 200
€ 400
€ 1000
€ 2000
€ 3000
€ 5000
€ 10000

The first round will be started with a set of 23 questions.

Yep, it was good fun last night. Anne was more bitchy this times. I remember her asking me whether I voted out Juchukai cause he had too much of a radiant personality.

I told Anne I had enough of a radiant personality by myself. Anne was great though as a host and the questions were definitely difficult at times. There was no room to breeze through rounds.

€ 50
€ 100
€ 200
€ 400
€ 1000
€ 2000
€ 3000
€ 5000
€ 10000

The first round will be started with a set of 23 questions.

I would love to play again, but since I already played twice, I will let others play.

If I could find some time searching for questions, I would host one maybe, but right now I am a little busy and tired. I have just got home, having bought a new car, so I want to relax for the moment.

I can send you a large file with questions :) You need to select them, but even that is quite a time-consuming job.

Ah, that would be helpful. But can I assume you know all those answers by heart? ;)

Yep, I bought a new car. My current one (which you've been in last year) has ran 333.000 kilometres now and is getting too expensive in maintenance. I have now bought a black Peugeot 206 1.4. from 2003.

Uhm there is loads of questions and I did not read all of them :p

Anyways, seeing as it is already 20:00, I will cancel tonight's session. Maybe someone can host one tomorrow? :)

Old car seemed fine  But yeah, 333.000 is a bit much :tape: I Googled the new car :) Looks nice! Renault is a good car brand.

Maybe tomorrow I can host, if you have sent me those questions by then. Depends on how tired I am.

The old car is still fine indeed. But it's getting too expensive in maintenance and all that. Last service cost me about 600 euro and the "koppakking" should probably be replaced, which would cost me another 700 euro.

And are you sure you are not confusing your French cars? It's a Peugeot I bought, not a Renault.

In the wrong sense.
