This was a question which was asked before, and I am still curious about...

Sure - if Svetlana Kuznetsova can do it anybody can

But seriously..... yes - can she beat 3 top players in a row? Yes.

yes, she's won 5 already...no reason she can't win another, especially the french, ESPECIALLY if justine continues to constantly get injured

Well she has already won a number of GS... Lol. I know what you mean - and I think she could. She's already proven that she can beat the top players. Her real threats in grand slams are Mauresmo, Clijsters and Sharapova. And Dementieva. I don't really think anyone else could stand in her way. Except Davenport on a good day...

At Roland Garros all she needs, I believe, is avoiding JHH and Elena Dementieva. She can beat everyone else.

i think she's a great player, but i don't think so. i'd say her only chance would be at the french.

Even at her best she wasn't able to win the grand glam (closest was in 1997, winning 3 GS tournaments in 1 year).

So I don't think she's capable of doing it now ;)

... and Kim Clijsters, Venus, Sveta, Maria...

Kim and Maria won't threaten Martina on clay. Venus is washed out. At least on clay. Sveta .. she needs to get her shit together first..

Yes, she has won 15 Grand Slams already, the last one 2 month ago in the mixed double in Melbourne...

:tape:

Even "washed out" Venus can smack Hingis imo

can she beat 3 top players in a row?

I suppose a more apt question would be, can she beat 3 power players in a row?

The poster said a grand slam not the grand slam. ;)

I think she will do very good at all of the slams but I don't think she will ever win another one.

I am surprised people are saying the French is her only shot ... I think the Australian is actually her best chance at bagging another Slam title. But who knows the truth? She's only been back for 2.5 months so everything is just conjecture.

Let's see what happens once Martina is ranked in the Top 10.

I'm not sure why, but i really feel she has unfinished business at Wimbledon.

I think her best shot is at Wimbledon. Look what she did to Sharapova on one of the fastest courts, next to Wimbledon, on tour. She's going to be a definite contender for that.

He or she also said: "Will she EVER win a grand slam?" even though she's already won 5 in singles and many more in (mixed) doubles. So the question was wrong in the first place.

I REALLY hope they play in Miami so you can eat those words  ...I don't see either Williams beating Hingis anytime soon, P :wavey:

I agree about the French. Luckily for her, its the one she probably most wants since she has never won it, and it's also the one she would have the best chance at. If Wimby was the one missing, i'd give her no chance in getting the whole set.

Yes! Wow 2 people in a row who agree w/me! I think her best shot THIS year at a singles GS is Wimbledon...if she plays like she did in Tokyo.
Then she can win RG next year and the Gold in Beijing the year after that :worship:

I am i wrong or did she not win allready 3,4,5,6 slame tournaments
and she almost won a proper grand slame just loosing in the final at Roland Garros to Eva Majoli.
Do you pose these questions just to unjustly belittle certain players??

French possibly.

Not at any of the others though.

I hope she does, but I just don't see her doing it.

She needs weapons, not just smarts, to win a Grand Slam.

If she didn't have weapons, she wouldn't have achieved the success she has. Just because she doesn't have one killer shot, i think her backhand down the line, anticipation, court sense, consistency, net game and ability to hit the right shot will get her a long way!

If Hingis would beef up her first and second serve, she would greatly increase her chances at winning a Slam again.
