The Kool Katerina Kramperova Cheering Thread!

I saw KK play in Wellington NZ this year and she looked good. She was runner up to Leanne Baker in a 10k. She is a very powerful young women, with a strong forehand. For a big girl she get around the court with ease. If she can cut doen of her UE's she can do big things. Good luck KK! :hug:

Have not been back to this thread in a little while:sad::o

KK has been doing pretty well of late! She has reached a new career high ranking of #797 on May 22nd! She has a w/l record of 6/6 which is pretty good for a new young player. She has only won one match since playing in NZ, but has had some really tough draws, and has been putting up some great fights!

She lost to talented Brit Mel South (#364) 63 46 63- a great fight!
Shes also had tight 3 set losses to players ranked inside the top #450.
Her most recent result was a 61 75 loss to Neha Uberoi of USA, #252.

Altho, these have been losses, the score lines has been very close against some class players. At 17, KK has a great future! And will be top 100 in about 4 years time I think.

Also I forgot to say that she thrashed a girl ranked #414 63 62!!

KK is also a great doubles player and plays alot with Jade Curtis in Juniors!

This week KK has a WC into the MD of a 75k. It is a very strong tourney with many top 100 players. Good luck in the first round!!

almost an entire year and no posts! :eek:

not a bad year for Katerina at all....she's 6-3 on the ITF circuit this year and currently ranked 694. She had a new career high ranking this year, peaking at 549 in February. Katerina won her first (hopefully of many!) tournament at the Hull 10K in January as a qualifier. Most recently she was entered in the Cordoba 10K last week, but had to retire from her first round match with an injury but she'll be okay soon according to her, so here's hoping for a speedy recovery! :)

Katerina reached the semis of the 10K Concepcion, Chile--her best effort of the season. She makes Also in the News...

Katerina makes Also in the News on the CW for winning the 10K Durban 1, South Africa hardcourt, her first pro title, and getting to the final of Durban 2!

Katerina made her first final of the year, at the 10K Jablonec Nad Nisou, where she was the #2 seed. She lost the title to fellow Czech Klara Fabikova, 4 & 1.

25K Torun. Katerina is the semis as a qualifier, having advanced when fellow qualifier Nadia Kichenok retired in the quarters, at 36 01.

She will will take on Paula Kania tomorrow. She leads the h2h over Kania, 1-0.

Lost to Paula in two close sets, 4 & 4, but won her first doubles title of the year, with Martina Kubicikova.

25K Zwevegem. Katerina was the #6 seed in qualies, and made the main draw without dropping a set. Plays fellow qualifier Victoire Mfoumouangana first round.

25K Darmstadt qualies. Made the main draw as the #2 seed after rallying to defeat fellow Czech, #11 seed Katerina Vankova in three, 36 75 61.

Faces Dalila Jakkupovic opening round.

Upset Dalila, 2 & 4, before falling to #1 Jana Cepelova in the quarters, 57 60 75.

Now has a WC in the main draw of the 100K Olomouc.

Roughed up by #8 Tatjana Malek, 1 & 0. :o

Katerina is currently on the EL for the 25K Innsbrook, Fl.

Let's hope she can get something going in 2013.

Katerina was the #2 seed in Innisbrook qualifying. She won her first round against Star Mararome, handily, 1 & 3, but was upset by 15 y.o. Katerina Stewart in the second, 75 26 61. :o

10K Gainesville.

#3 Katerina made her SF since August, after defeating qualifier Andrea Benitez in a tough three sets, 64 26 63. She now faces #6 Andrea Mueller for a spot in the final.

10k Orlando.

Katerina upset #2 Dia Evtimova, 3 & 0, to reach her second consecutive SF. Now faces qualifier Michaela Boev for a spot in the final! They are tied 1-all in their h2h.

Katerina fell to Michaela, 2 & 1. :o Michaela's been playing lights out tennis, and has yet to drop a set!

Still, a good week for Katerina. Hope for a better one next week-- she got a MDWC into the 25K Innisbrook!

25K Jackson qualies. Made the MD as the #4 seed, after defeating #11 Nika Kukharchuk, 75 63. Now faces Florencia Molinero in the first round. Katerina is 1-0 against her, but this is their first meeting on clay.

^ Fell to Florencia, 67(0) 36.

Now the 25K Pelham qualies:

As the #8 seed, defeated Hilda Melander, 75 62, to make the main draw. Faces former junior rival Bibiane Schoofs first round. Is 1-2 to her in junior play, and has never defeated her on clay.

Bibiane, w/d so Katerina had to play the LL-- Hilda Melander :lol: Katerina gave her one more game, winning 75 63. :rolls:

Now faces #8 Jessica Pegula in the second round.
