Hi All

I was just sitting here at work and a thought just crossed my mind. What if Venus and Serena Williams are tired of tennis. That thought crossed my mind as I sat here doing my work - the same work that I have been doing for the last 21 years and I think to myself - I really want to stop being a Paralegal - I am sick to death of listening to people's complaints about their legal issues - I need a break - and the thought just occurred to me maybe that is how Venus, Serena, Jennifer, Monica and all the other tennis players who have not retired feel about tennis. They are tired of commentators who in their heyday never made a significant contribution to tennis, criticising their games, they are tired of wanna be players trash talking them and they are tired of fans saying how disappointed they are in them as players. I guess the point could be made that this is what you do for a living, but all of us who work can relate to times when we wish we had a different job and we wished we did not have to come to work that day - how does everyone else feel about this situation with tennis players.

First, none of the players you mentioned have ever said they are tired of tennis. They make millions of dollars a year, what the hell is there to be tired of? People have much worse jobs where they have to hear twice as much complaining and criticism for not even a fraction of what these ladies make. I think these players know exactly how lucky they are, and in the case of Venus and Serena, they know it won't last forever so they are getting their backup careers together.

I am not saying that they said that they are tired of tennis, I am just simply speculating that they might feel that way, hence the withdrawals and blaming it on injuries - sometimes money is not all- I know because I just got a really good pay rise and there are days when I just do not feel like going to work - I know we sit here and we think oh they just got an endorsement deal worth $5M damn they are lucky, but then when you think of everything that goes along with that day in day out - after a while I think it takes its toll on you
