this will effect especially lindsey/maria half of the draw.
lindsey may be conscious of the fact shell have to play 2 matches and rush and maybe lose aginst kirilenko.
martina may think she has it in the bag rush also and lose, then agin hingis may even be more efficent quick and devestating. there are so many possible outcomes for tommorow, i just hope i can cope! we all thought todays line up was good, how wrong could we get! so overall i think the title says it all!
and of course whoever meets who in the semi final be it maria-lindsey maria-kirilenko, hingis-lindsey or hingis-kirilenko, the opponents will be both tired as potentially both 1/4 final seem very long ang grusume!

I think Lindsay's been around the block enough to let that happen. Plus she has experience with Makiri too now, she won't underestimate her. I highly doubt Marti thinks she has it in the bag ;). She's still the underdog.

after tokyo? please hingis thinks she can beat roger federer! she said from the start of her come back she wanted to play masha putting pressure on maria which she didnt handle in tokyo, then she beat her 3 and 1! and you think the pressures on masha? eh no the pressure is on hingis to see if it was a once off wonder(hopfully), hingis leads their head to head series and she only beat masha 2 weeks ago in 2 sets, hingis has to be the fav, but because of the lessening of pressure on masha i think maria will win, maria didnt play well in tokyo she didnt serve well either which she needed to do on a quicker surface, and after her overall performance aginst dushevina including the serve, which was much better even compared to the quicker surface, i think maria can win, as martinas serve is not so effective on this slower surface whereas marias serve is better even on the slower surface because its improved since tokyo, probably because her injury is coming to its final healing stage(hopfully)
im not sure who the pressure is on but i dont think masha should feel any pressure not from her fans or otherwise. yeah it will be great if masha wins but its a tough ask of maria as we found out in tokyo. and whatever the outcome maria will im sure have just as much fans if not more than before the match!
so good luck masha!
no pressure!
only on hingis of course!

This is a second career for Martina, and I believe her when she says she has no pressure. Of course Martina thinks she's going to win, all pro athletes should, but she wouldn't underestimate her opponent. If I have Maria pegged right, she's going to give it her all. Martina is the underdog, though. Your last paragraph could have easily applied to Marti too ;).

the weather forecast is not very good - it could get even more complicated!

never mind.... remember Wimby 04... rain is Maria's friend...
she might be down 0-6 0-5 to hingis and then it would start raining... :p
then Maria will display a Graf-ish comback (I'm sure you Hingis fans remember RG ) to win 6-2 in the 3rd

or if Maria's winning, she's gonna still win despite the rain anyway :p

I would not be happy with the score being 6-6 and then it is cancelled!!

I think the only one of the quarterfinalists who would have trouble adjusting to the rain would be Kirilenko, but maybe I'm wrong.
