I hope she's relaxing, getting lots of sleep, massages, drinking wine, going to the park with Sophie and playing scrabble. Don't touch a tennis racket until you get to Miami Momo!

It was a sloppy poo game against Marion today.

Amelie has to do better against Ana. By the end of today's match Marion was balling and had her knee wrapped. I was puzzled in the last game because it SEEMED (note I say seemed) Amelie was toying with Marion. She was shanking shots (hitting into the net, and by no mistake either). At first I thought it was to give Marion a game but she didn't give Samantha anything so... She'd give away a couple of points and then PUNISH Marion. G sat right below us and Loic and Guy were also there.

Draw your own conclusions; I'm happy to answer any questions I can (and I'm sure linnie will, also).

améliemomo

Well, I'm glad she felt in control of the match
interesting comments about the instant replay

A. MAURESMO/A. Ivanovic
7‑5, 6‑2
An interview with:

AMELIE MAURESMO

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. What are your feelings on the instant replay?

AMELIE MAURESMO: I have mixed feelings about this machine. I think it's a bit too long.

Q. Takes too long?

AMELIE MAURESMO: Yeah. I think the procedure is a little bit too long, the umpire saying "Miss whatever is challenging this line", whatever.

So I have the feeling it's a little bit too long. I don't know, it's strange. I am just wondering if it happens, you know, every ‑‑ at last point of a set or of a match, like it happened last night. You know, it cuts a little bit of the emotion sometimes, I think.

I'm still more want to see how it goes.

Q. Have you used it yet yourself?

AMELIE MAURESMO: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I used it A couple times today.

Q. You were right or wrong?

AMELIE MAURESMO: I was both, one time right and one time wrong.

Mixed. I don't know. I don't know yet (smiling).

Q. Ana is a player that has given you trouble in the past. What was the difference tonight?

AMELIE MAURESMO: I felt I was in much more control of the game. I really felt I should have also won that first set much easier than I did. I'm not so happy about that, concerning the match today.

Then was really much more focused and aggressive and taking control in that second set. I'm glad I finished the match this way.

Q. Because of the past you've had with her, coming into this match, were you more up for this? Did you feel more excited or more prepared?

AMELIE MAURESMO: Not specifically, no. I think I, you know, every time I step on the court I really want to do my best. I was just probably ‑‑ I learned a little bit the last couple times we played each other. I also remember the quarterfinal we played here last year, so that was a good reference for me.

So I really tried to, yeah, again, take control from the first point coming into that match.

WTA MIAMI, Demi-finales

S.Kuznetsova (Rus, 12) bat A.Mauresmo (Fra, 1) 6-1, 6-4

2004, WTA Championships : Mauresmo l'emporte 6-3, 6-2
2004, Filderstadt, demi-finale : Mauresmo l'emporte 7-5, 6-4

She HAS found solutions to the big forehands, she just forgot them in the locker room today ;)

Hopefully the next weeks are going to be more "new Amélie-like" :p

agree with you bumsby,amélie forgot her tennis in the locker room.Svetlana played great but amélie played :o .Its not her level, she reminds me there the "past amélie" too defensive, bad forehand, too short, not good hit in the ball. Not felt the game in that match.

Well, clay will come and hopefully amélie will play her "real tennis"

In the end she started giving signs of awareness:
"baah... I don't know... it WAS funny indeed but... it felt like something was missing? "

Great to see Svetlana win the title after beating Amélie - Momo just wasn't there on the day, oh well not to worry the clay season is now upon us!
