I guess it took Amy awhile to figure out how to play her...lol Amy lost the first 19 points of this match with the exception of one DF to give her a point   ! She was down 5-0 and lost the set 6-1. Then she rattled of 12 str8 games... :worship:

That is WEIRD:eek: To go from almost losing the first 20 points of the match and then double bagel your opponent the last two sets...only Amy:o

Hopefully she keeps going. Shenay will be a pain in the ass to play on these fast courts, but she's got as good a path to win this as she's ever going to get in a WTA tournament.

Seems like Amy is playing a lot of players as of late for the first time. That could have been a slight factor to things.

But to almost lose a golden set to a relative unknown and then turn around and not lose a game:eek:

At 33, Frazier is the oldest player in the draw.

In a lopsided second-round match against qualifier Yaroslava Shvedova, Frazier had a dismal start, not winning a point until down 5-0, 40-0 in the first set. And Shvedova double-faulted to give Frazier that long-awaited point. Frazier won that game but dropped the first set, 6-1.

At the start of the second set, the experienced American made a quick turnaround while her 18-year-old opponent's game disappeared. Frazier denied Shvedova a game in the last two sets and secured the win, 16 60 60.

Frazier will meet Perry for the second time after winning their first encounter in the first round at the 2003 US Open, 63 61.

Lol yep it would have been the first, or at least known, Golden set in a women's match since the early 40's when Pauline Betz did it at an event.

Well...lets quickly put this way back in the files of our minds.... :p Amy knows how to play Perry. Hopefully her serve can be on target tomorow. She is first up on Center Court at 10 am / 11 am NYC time . :worship: :bounce:

Sometimes it just takes a little while to get the old body into gear.....I know how that feels...the mind is willing but the body is about 1/2 an hour behind!:) ...and in tennis that means the first set is history!

This title is well within Amys grasp. Tricky match vs Perry who appears to be playing well, but if Amy is striking well then I think she can get through it.

BBC just mentioned this epic match. So 23 points in a row until 5:0 40:0 then 6-1 0-6 0-6. :worship::worship::worship:
It's taken Shvedova another 6 years to eventually achieve this golden set record. :bounce:
